March Forward

Now that I can get blogger to cooperate again, I can get caught up...... since it's already the end of March!

February went out with a bang..... or should I say, BOOM! Tianna made a volcano at preschool for the letter "V."

One Sunday we had my Great Aunt Kathryn and Great Uncle Ken over for dinner. It's fun having relatives live nearby (Spanish Fork now, but they were long time residences of Payson.)
Like most of our visitors, the girls mauled them.  At least Uncle Ken could entertain them by playing the ukulele and taking his dentures out and Kathryn makes a wonderful grandma figure! I love those two people! 

On Dr. Seuss' bday we spent the morning watching video clips of his famous stories, reading books, and then ate Green eggs and ham (um.. actually bacon since I was out of ham) for lunch.  

This year for the Relief Society birthday party, I was asked to put on a little play about visiting teaching.  It was set in Mother Goose land and turned out really really cute! I even got to keep the amazing back drops a sister made for us.

March 15th, Tianna had a follow up at Primary Childrens.  The first time we've walked out of a visit without heading in for blood tests, x-rays, physical therapy, or an MRI! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOO! she's looking great but since the arthritis in her jaw can only be checked by MRI she's good till July when we do that again.  If it's progressed more we have to change her medication. Until then, we were GOOD TO GO! :) 

We then headed off to see Temple Square!

 Up on the roof at the Conf center, we saw President Hinckley's son.  He looked just like Pres Hinckley but without glasses.

Adelia ran up to him and yelled, "I touched Jesus' toe!" She was so proud :) 

On St. Patrick's day we made a spontaneous trip to Price.  We got their just in time to see the parade and then we got to hang out with these cute green girlies......... and we made rainbow cupcakes which are pretty much, DIVINE !   While we were there we were also able to have a birthday dinner with Luke's mom who turned the big 50! :D 

The next day we went to Lehi to attend the baby blessing of our friend's, Janelle and Ed's, little girl, Ellie .  She is so sweet!  Just today we had a WONDERFUL visit when Janelle and Ellie who came down our house.  

This month has also brought some long awaited nice weather! We have worked in the yard, played hard outside until we were all sunburned, and made planter boxes for our future garden.  

The girls' even put their creative juices together and made "Wall-E and Eva."  

Frustration!!!

A month ago I tried to blog but my pictures would not upload onto blogger no matter how hard I tried. Eventually I gave up for the day.  Since then, I've tried multiple times and multiple things, but to no avail.  So... here, have a post with NO pictures.  One day I'll get it to work!!

On President's weekend we had a trip to Castle Dale to visit family.  Luke's sister, Laura, who lives in Nebraska, so we don't get to see very often, was down.  It was so great to see her! Sadly, the camera didn't make an appearance : (

On Saturday we did a fun "Pea-chick Run" with Belinda, Courtney, Laura and I.  It was a great 4.5 miler...

The rest of the time we mostly just hung out together making hair flowers and watching movies etc.  (hence, the lack of pictures)

Luke had to work on Monday-Pres. Day- but on our way home we decided to stop off at the cabin for the night.  I spent Monday there, playing in the snow with borrowed clothing, and then Luke came back to get me after work.  He's so good to me!

My sister did my makeup and Adelia wanted in on the action so I put on blush, mascara, lipstick, eye shadow etc. .  It was funny to see her all dolled up.........until she played in the snow and had mascara running down her 2 year old cheeks! :D

Then we spent hours sledding with the cousins.  It was really fun and a great day to be in the snow.

I Heart You day!

Like I say every year, I love Valentines day.. It's just what we need to break up the hum-drum of the winter months.  And hello, PINK, and GLITTER, and LOVE splattered everywhere-- what could be better?!  Oh yeah, and I get to make cute crafts like this felt flower wreath.

I may over-do a rather silly holiday... but it's fun for me, so who cares, right?

Our holiday kicked off on the 13th when a BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers from the hubs arrived.  I didn't expect any (at least not at day early! hehehe)

That night, after the girls were in bed, Luke and I "Heart Attacked" the girls doors with little hearts that said things we love about them.

Then being the good sport that he is, helped me hang streamers in the kitchen.  

THE GIRLS LOOOOVED IT! They woke up so excitedly-- especially when I told them they got pink french toast for breakfast!

 Then I sent Tianna to preschool.  No one said anything about handing out Valentines, so I stupidly assumed she didn't need any. Wrong! Apparently all the other mom's just did anyway... She was the only one without them :( I felt bad-- even though she didn't seem to care.

So we rushed home and threw some Valentines together... it was great writing practice too! :)

 Good thing there are only 5 other kids! haha

It was fun to hand deliver them anyway... 

I guess we saved Valentines Day after all! 

The rest of the day was spent preparing for our "date night" with Daddy.  Last year we transformed the house into a "restaurant" but since we have a different set up, it would have been much more difficult.  So we just had a fancy dinner... with all the trimmings:  steak, potatoes, pink jell-o salad, garlic bread, pink lemonade, green beans, and of course, chocolate dipped strawberries! Mmmmm

Oh, and did I mention I made my first (and possibly last) German Chocolate cake.  Apparently I'm the only one who loves the topping... 

PS-- don't EVER put sugar sprinkles on it-- clash of flavors! 

Sadly, Luke was walking out the door from work when he received a phone call that ended up keeping him at work for another hour and a half. 

At least we had time to finish ALL of our preparations....

By the time he came the girls were so glad to see him! (stupid dying camera battery ruined my pictures!)

 He brought home a pretty bouquet for each of them. Such a sweet daddy!

Then we ate our delish dinner, watched our wedding video, and that was about it! It was a perfect day.  With my perfect little monsters :) and my perfect man! 

Oh yeah, did I mention my wonderful husband also gave me a gift certificate for a mani-pedi! Oh yeah........

This is the face of someone who is spoiled! 

February stuff

On the 10th and 11th, we had a great little trip down to Moab with our friends, Blake and Chantel.  We left right after work and then drove down.  We stopped at a few hotels to check their deals and ended up at the NICEST place that just so happened to have the BEST deal! Our room had a king and 2 queens and was still cheaper than the Super 8! It even had a nice hot breakfast!

We hiked to Morning Glory Arch first thing that morning.  It was about 2.5 miles in, and very easy..but so beautiful.  It even had quite a few river crossings.  

 So glad Chantel came with us! Blake and 2 of his canyoneering buddies did the opposite way into the arch then rappelled down over it.  The rest of us hiked in and then we all hiked out together.

We came across these amazing frozen waterfalls (actually frozen springs coming out of the rocks--SO COOL!)

It was so slippery we were doing everything we could to keep from falling!

 MORNING GLORY ARCH!

 Blake rappelling off the 100 foot arch.  Unfortunately his camera decided to escape out of his pocket and crash to the bottom!

 On our hike back the boys set up some more rappelling so Luke could have an opportunity too. I would have done it but the beginning was different than usual.. You couldn't just walk backwards off the ledge, but had to maneuver yourself off from a sitting position. um.. no thanks.

 Then we had lunch and looked at the beautiful scenery.

 Sand Dune Arch.  We went into ARCHES Nat. Park for a little bit and really only had enough time to do one arch. We chose Sand Arch because I remember loving that one as a kid.  It was so fun-- but by now, SOOO COLD! It made it a little hard to enjoy, but it was still fun.

 I am always amazed at God's creations while I am here.  It's so breathtaking!

 Lastly, we stopped off at the Delicate Arch viewpoint.  I wish we had more daylight to have hiked it... but our little one's legs were tired after all that hiking.  Especially Tianna-- what a trooper. She hiked the whole day by herself (only carried over the river crossings!) and on top of that, she had a fever all weekend. (so sick of these fevers or ear infections EVERY weekend!)

We ended our fun little trip with a stop at Zax in Moab for dinner.. who knew that some pizza buffet would end up costing us more than either the gas or the hotel (when split).  Stupid 18% gratuity for horrible service.........

But hey, other than that, the trip was perfect!
