We had a layover in Houston.
The one in the middle is Brittany, my Norwex upline, and the one in the green is Elise, one of our team members. I love these girls and i'm excited to spend so much time together!
Our resort was AMAZING!
But the room had an interesting choice....
This here is a WINDOW... NOT a Mirror. Who wasn't a bathroom open like that? Especially if you are in a foreign land notorious for giving one belly probs. Which is did.
The view looked great in the dark.... but in the morning light................ breathtaking
"all inclusive" is super sweet. Eat whatever you want, whenever you want.. without CHARGE! I know we paid for it-- especially since we bought Luke in, but still. It was amazing to wave our little gold wrist bands and get all the food we wanted.
And the fruit? To die for
Our first day we wanted to do some local exploring-- first thing was a little nature park in the middle of the town. We used Uber to get there and had a lovely hike.
That there is a BIG tree
yeah.. that's a huge spider
A sloth in a tree
leaf cutter ants. SO interesting. You suddenly notice a little wave on the ground and quickly realize it's a procession of leaf cutter ants hauling their spoils across the trail.
Bonsai trees
After our nature hike we met some other Norwex friends and decided to pal around with them for some shopping... especially where some of them spoke Spanish. :)
We didn't take much pictures but we got all of our shopping done for our girls at a flea market and only almost died once when the Uber driver flipped a U turn and drove up the one way highway, nearly missing an oncoming truck, to pull into the shopping plaza.
After shopping we returned to the resort and walked up the beautiful beach
But first, icecream
It wasn't too far up the beach that we met a dead end
The sand was more... just shells. Lots of sharp shells
That night we met up with some friends for dinner at one of the resort steak houses (again, wave the magic gold wrist band and eat $30 steak without paying)
and then the welcome events with Norwex
THe pools all close once it's dark (a bit frustrating actually) but we still enjoyed walking the neon lit pool area
