Disneyland (Day 6)

January 11, 2011
Our last day in this MAGICAL place! If we all weren't so exhausted we probably would have been really sad.  But after days and days of being on the go 100% of the time, our feet couldn't have taken any more days...

So instead of pouting about it, we just made our last day PERFECT! (like all the previous days had been!)
First thing we did was head for the PRINCESS Fantasy Faire.  Now that we knew where to actually find them.  On our way we noticed that the PIXIE HALLOW attraction had zero line.  So we stopped there first thing.
We saw Rosetta and TINKER BELL! yay! i'm glad she was there.  Adelia is a big fan!
Next stop: PRINCESSES! It ended up so perfect that the three princesses there at the time were Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)- Tianna's favorite and Snow White- Adelia's favorite (that day!) And Cinderella was great to see too since I played Cinderella in a play a few years ago.  I would have also liked to see Belle, but that's okay! The girls were able to see their favorites, what more could I ever ask for?
Off to TOON TOWN!
Dad and his chickens.... just can't seem to leave them behind
I look kind of "Goofy" but it's the best picture of Goofy's house.
Chip and Dale's tree house

After we checked that off our MUST DO list, we tried to fit in all the rest of the things we hadn't yet had time for.
-Monorail-- my parent's really wanted to do that.  It wasn't nearly as exciting as it looked.
- Pirates again
-Splash Mountain (GOT SOAKED) Tianna's face was PRIIIIIIIIIIICELESS! She may not look like it, but she loved it.  She went twice and then complained about her wet underware the remainder of the day.
BEST PICTURE EVER!!!!

-Luke and I rode Indiana Jones together while my parent's took the girls on the Tom Sawyer River Boat
-The train: which was way more exciting than I ever expected
-Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
-And then did repeats of our favorites (and those with fastest lines.)

While Tianna rode Splash, Adelia got to see TIGGER!

Tigger LOVED Adelia.  He spent so much time with her. It was one of the best moments for me as a mom.  He even started to skip away with her...
We had to see Aurora's Castle walk-through several times... a day.

When all was said and done we pretty much did EVERYTHING we wanted to do.  The Matterhorn and Haunted Mansion were closed so we couldn't ride them, and there were a few rides (especially in Cali Adventure land) that Adelia was too short to ride so we chose not to even bother with them... But otherwise,  we did just about all there was to do.. and some more than once.
We ended up doing Pirates's 4 times because it was one the girls' most requested. And for some reason the line came and went in waves so we never had to wait!

BUT, there was one thing I kept trying to find and hadn't yet been able to see. It was the Library from Beauty and the Beast. I assumed it was C.A. but while we were there someone told me it was in Disneyland (Princess scenario all over again)  So when we were at Disneyland our last day I tried to find it.  I asked another worker  I finally found out where it was! California Adventure.  OF COURSE! But since we had time, we dashed across to the other park and found it.
And so glad we did!
The "library" had little kiosks that you could answer questions and see what character you were most like.
Tianna was Nala from Lion King, I was Jane from Tarzan, Mom was Lady from Lady and the Tramp, Luke was Jiminy Cricket, and Dad was Captain Hook.
In another room they had a kiosk that you could record your voice and become a character.
Well, I believe we completely CONQUERED DISNEYLAND! We finished up some shopping and left the park feeling like we truly had just spent the last 3 days in the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH.  We can't wait to go back................................................. in a few years :)

California Adventure (Day 5 continued)

As you will notice, our girls were all decked out in their favorite Princess outfits.  We were under the false notion that we could see the Princesses at Ariels Grotto in Cali Adv. Come to find out, the other way you see THOSE Princesses is if you do a character dining there.  Oh. Great.  The place you see the Princesses is actually in Disneyland! UGH! Thankfully Tianna and Adelia took the news that they had to wait one more day to see their beloved Princesses.

"Look Tianna, see in there, yeah, THAT place.  Yes the Princesses are in there.  NO, no, we do not get to see them. See, it's a cruel, yet tantalizing sales tactic isn't it"  -Adelia
I really was impressed with how well the girls' handled the disappointment.  What champs!
We made up for it by having a fantastic day though! While on the Paradise Pier we rode the California Screamer (and our stomachs regretted every second of it) , Toy Story Mania, The gigantic Ferris Wheel, and Ariels Under Sea Adventure.
Toy Story Mania was way more fun that I thought it would be!
Grandpa Neil stood in line with these chicks to see Woody while the rest of us conquered The SCREAMER

Next we headed off to Bugs Life land.  That "It's Tough to Be a Bug" show is timeless. And so are those glasses!

We grabbed us a TURKEY leg for lunch and chilled out in "Hollywood" so we could be on time for the Aladdin show.  But that darn turkey leg was just so good we missed the show by mere minutes. Oops. Good thing they have multiple showtimes through out the whole day.

We warned Tianna that the Tower of Terror ride would be scary.... but she wanted to come along!
BEFORE: Practicing her scared face:
 DURING: the REAL terrified face
AFTER: the survival face.  She enjoyed it but later swore she would NEVER go on that ride again.
Adelia andI went and checked out some other sights while the rest of the crew SOARED OVER CALIFORNIA.   Tianna liked that ride a whole lot more than Tower of Terror.
Meanwhile, we found Mater and Lightning!
 And pretty waterfalls!
And a sign that made us feel like we were at home. (on years when it actually SNOWS!)

We literally RAN to see the Aladdin show and made it just in time for a great show! I felt bad my parent's were still "Soaring" and missed it though.  I think they enjoyed a minute to rest though... we kept running all day long.

Last, but certainly not least we grabbed some pizza for din-din and hurried off to wait. And wait. AND WAIT for the WORLD OF COLOR.  Good thing it was totally worth every agonizing second of standing around waiting for it.
Gotta love the Pizza Faces they are sporting!
This show really was AMAZING!  Tianna wanted to go back the next night.  If you didn't have to just stand for over an hour waiting for the half hour long show which you also stand up for, we just might have... it was THAT GOOD!
