A Wicked-Fun Date

7 and a half months ago, I splurged and got us tickets to see "Wicked" at the Capital Theater.  Finally, July 25th arrived and we could go!! I was soooooo excited! It's not very often we get a fancy date to the theater.

First we dropped our kiddos off at my cousin, Clisty's house in South Jordan.  They had so much fun so thanks Clisty!

Then we drove up to downtown SLC and ate dinner at Macaroni Grill.  It was quite delish!
Despite how Luke appears in the picture, he enjoyed his dinner too! Plus he got to enjoy mine again the next day for lunch! (I love restaurant left-overs!)

 The lady snapping the picture timed it perfectly to get the "Wicked" sign on the marquee. 

 26.5 weeks along!

 So as it turned out, our "splurge" for tickets was apparently not enough.  When I purchased balcony tickets I was NOT aware that row R was not somewhere in the middle. It is in fact, the back row.

Very back row, 2 seats away from the corner, big BIG man sitting up super tall a few rows down blocking my view and all other things considered............. it was still a magnificent show. I liked it far more than I even expected to.  Luke loved it too!  We definitely hope to see it again someday..... when we aren't in the seats furthest away from the stage as possible.


As a general rule I would always say that "Wickedness never is happiness,"  But this show just might be the exception! It was a VERY happy night! :)  Then to top the night off and what made the night EVEN better was getting to have a late night chit chat with my sister in law when we stayed at her house.  Thanks again for letting us stay, Val! Love you!

7.24.12

Sadly Luke didn't get the 24th off from work.  That didn't keep we Pea-Chicks from partyin' at the Spanish Fork parade anyway.
 Lesson learned though:  If you do not have a large blanket or at the very least, a camp chair to mark your spot, you do not exist.  Simply standing or sitting somewhere doesn't really count.

Seriously, I witnessed my kids lose their place 3 times due to rude ADULTS who practically pushed them aside.

Does it look like 3 adults and a dog could fit in this space next to her?! Nope! She ended up losing her spot until I confronted them.  They denied it but the people next to her chimed in and agreed that they had just pushed her out of her spot.

 We didn't make it to any fireworks but i think this fabulous rainbow made up for it!

Mirror Lake trip

Friday before last we made a quickie camp trip up to Mirror Lake with the Merrell's.

We did some fishin'........... and Blake decided to go wading......

 We did some geo-caching

 And actually found a REALLY cool one........ it's at the sight of what use to be a huge resort

It was a bit far away for the time we actually spent there, but we had a great time and loved seeing somewhere new! 

Festivals!

A few weeks ago Luke went on a 3 day horse-pack trip up to the high Uintah Mountains with my dad, niece, and a few others.  Whilst he was gone the girlies and I tried to stay busy. 

First, we hit up the Scottish Festival in Payson.

 I have discovered that by the time you have your arm around your 2 kids, it's quite difficult to reach your arm out far enough for a quality pic.  At least between both pictures you get both halves of their pretty faces! :D

 It was such a busy day. We went to the Scott's parade, then back to Santaquin to a bridal shower, then back to Payson to the park to watch the Highland games etc, and THEN.........

Home to rest for a bit.  In fact, a bit too long.  By the time we got out to Mona (6 miles south of our house) to the Lavender Day's Festival, most of it was over.

 But we still had time to see some of the animals

 And the best part-- a full scale Jousting Tourney.  It was just like at Medieval Times but without our own half a chicken to eat!

 We even got to stand out in some lavender fields.

 I wonder if Luke's pack trip included Moose-back riding?

Next year I will know to spend the whole day at Lavender Fest.  There were so many cool things we did not get to do. 

Independence Day

Somehow in my haste to get my anniversary post up I failed to input my post on the 4th of July.  My parent's had tickets to Stadium of Fire that night so we invited them to come up early enough for a picnic and some fishing up the canyon.
My parents loved Stadium of Fire, and we enjoyed the fireworks from near the Provo Temple with the Stubb's fam. All in all, it was a perfect, low-key kind of 4th of July.

7 Year Itch

Luke and I have been married for 7 years! They say that's when you get the 7 year itch...... but I can honestly say the only thing I'm itching for is 70 more years with this wonderful man!  I love being married to him and we truly are the best of friends.  Here's a look at the last 7 years together :D


Our Honeymoon-- hiking Angels Landing in Zions Nat Park (look how little Luke is! I still look as young as ever unfortunately, but it's fun to see how much Luke has changed)

First Anniversary-- seeing a play and roasting to death in St. George and then REALLY roasting in LasVegas at 7 months preggo. 

3rd Anniversary-- Dinner and a movie

 4th Anniversary-- We had just had Adelia so we spent the night at home with the girls and Luke made yummy Haitian food.  Then we danced together with our babies :)

5th Anniversary--  Went to Havasupai in June for our "5 year trip" but went to a late night movie on our actual anniversary

 6th Anniversary--  Our trip back in time as we retraced some of the importantly places from dating

And now for number 8--- We ate a DELICIOUS steak dinner at Silver Steakhouse and then watched "The Amazing Spiderman" in 3D.  We also spent the night reading a list of questions to ask your spouse on a date. It was so fun to learn some new things about each other and laugh about funny stories we could recall.  It was also full of many tender moments as expressed our love and appreciate for each other too. 

Earlier on Saturday we took the kiddos to Huntington Reservoir for some good ol' fashioned craw-dad fishing.  If you don't know what a crawdad, or crawfish is, just picture a really small lobster.

Basically you go on a dock or somewhere with a chicken thigh or other hunk of meat on a string and throw it out. After a few minutes you pull up the string and usually have several crawdads chowing down on it. You net them, throw them in a bucket and repeat! :D It really was quite entertaining despite how it sounds.

 One time I accidentally netted a bluegill.  Oopsey :) 

It was a fabulous anniversary.  Thanks Love for being the best husband ever!
