Talks, Percy, and Holes (wish it was just the movie)

If you haven't seen Tianna's first talk video yet, check it out after this post. She gave her first talk in Primary yesterday and did such a great job! Everyone in the room was giggling at her though because she mispronounces a lot of the words and it was just so cute! This video was shot after church so she was pretty tired. Just know, it was even cuter when she did it for primary. It amazes us how grown up she is getting to be. I was filled with a strange feeling watching her do this because part of me is just so happy she is such a bright and beautiful little (grown up) girl while the other part of me was sad she IS growing up so much. I guess life does that, whether you want it to or not.

In other news........ the froggies have a new play-mate. This fetching fish is Percy.

is what Luke and I (mostly Luke) got to do Saturday. We had a water leak and it was quite the chore to dig the hole down into it. Good thing we have such fluffy, soft soil that is nice and easy to dig through. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! The dirt is about 50% gravel.... therefore, REALLY REALLY REALLY difficult to dig through. Now that the hard part is over with, hopefully the leak problem can be resolved easily.

Tianna's First Talk in Primary

Meet the new Peacock's............ or rather.....

Frogs. They aren't peacock's, silly! : D

This is Senna and Sella, named by their owner, Tianna (these names are incredibly more real name-like than her usual creations...such as Bunka, Leepop,Celery etc) Anyway, Senna and Sella came home with us from Baby Animal Days where her Uncle Dale and Aunt Courtney bought them for her.  I was a bit apathetic to this as I've always been a bit anti-pet, but occasionally I think it would be funthink about it, but I must say, I am quite fond of the little guys now.  They are African Dwarf Frogs and are quite cool.
The second night we had them we had friends over watching a Harry Potter movie.  We kept hearing a strange sound and pausing the movie.  Finally, we realized it was coming from the frogs.  Apparently, they "sing" sometimes.  We've tried to get them to sing that loudly again, but we've only heard faint "tunes" a few times.  Another cool thing about them is that they stretch themselves out and balance on one foot or float like they are meditating.

 So basically, we like our new friends and welcome them to the family! PS- they have a new home since I took these pictures. It's bigger and gives a little more swimming room.

In other news... LOOOOOOOVIN' the weather! We have had some good walks, worked in the yard, played outside and introduced Adelia to DIRT!
Unfortunately, she thinks it's a great source of vitamins and minerals and sneaks tastes whenever she can.

We also had a blast at Baby Animal Days as previously mentioned.  It was really fun having Luke's sister and husband up here and hope that Courtney had a GRRREAT birthday! Thanks for the visit!

Last, but certainly not least, today marks 8 months since Vittoria's passing.  Oh how we miss that little girl.  We know our pain is nothing compared to her dear parents, and her grandparents, but with knowing that, I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it is for them. I wish I knew what to say, or what to do.... but really, the only thing I can say is that we love you so very much and we pray for you every day.

Easter was so fun! Wished we could have spent more time with the Frandsen's and Grandpa Bert, Courtney and Laura on the Peacock side... but we'll be back... I'm sure of it!

We also wished we had spent more time on Saturday listening to Conference... but now we are listening to it on lds.org as I blog. It's been so uplifting to hear the words of the Prophet's and hear the sweet music that truly bring "Sunshine to My Soul" I'm also grateful for Easter and the great and eternal gift that was given to us on that spring morning so many centuries ago when our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ was resurrected! I know that He suffered and died for us, but that He lives again!

If there were no Easter, there would be no Christmas.

Happy April Fools and Easter (or should I say Merry Christmas?)

Well.... Mother Nature had one up on us all today for the best prank. Just when you think it's SPRING, she dishes out 6 inches of white stuff.  "It's SPRING and EASTER and APRIL!  April Fools! You get more Winter!"

This is what we woke up to! The only thing keeping from being discouraged by it is.... it's April. Really, how long could it last before it melts? And it really has melted a ton today. So...... the jokes on you MOTHER NATURE!

We have also been having some EGG-CELENT times last night and today. Last night was our ward party and it was so awesome! (LOVE our ward... if I haven't already said that a hundred times) They wanted everyone to of course interact, but also stay together as a family as we went around to 3 different stations. First one we went to was to make paper baskets for the kiddos. Tianna has been obsessed with hers.  After that we went to the egg games (toss game, relay race etc) and the last was the coolest! Every family got 12 plastic eggs and got to fill them with an object and word strip that all tell the TRUE story of Easter! I'm excited to go through it with our family on Sunday. (that is if Tianna will leave her little basket alone long enough to not lose all the pieces!)

When we got home we colored our own Easter Eggs. As always, SUPER FUN!My favorite part--taking pictures after Tianna had taken out her hair... she'll love these when she's older!

Today we made Rice Krispy treat Easter Eggs. I don't know how I came up with it (i'm sure I'm not the first)... but they actually turned out pretty cool. I doubled the recipe for Rice Krispy Treats but broke it up into 4 rounds, each time using a different color or food coloring to the marshmallow just before adding the cereal. Then form that 1/4th into egg sized/shaped pieces. Then move on to the other color and repeat the process. When you are all done, cut the "eggs" into 3 or 4 pieces and mix and match as you reshape into a mulit-colored egg. It was so fun and Tianna loved helping with it. And really, who doesn't love a rice krispy treat?!
We had left over yellow and green........ so we got creative! So the bunny is a bit on the freaky side, but Tianna insisted on him having, "Those long spiky things like a cat has" (as she strokes imaginary whiskers from her cheeks)
