Pumpkin Walk

I have a cute friend from Australia ask me what the Pumpkin Walk was. She said, "I walk my dog, do you walk your pumpkins?" LOL Sadly no, I don't walk my pumpkins, but as you can see from my previous post, others walk them for me. Anyway... Tracey, and anyone else, the pumpkin walk is a favorite fall activity of ours up here in Logan.

People from the community use pumpkins to make displays which are featured in a big park in North Logan. It's so cute and fun. You just walk along a jack-o-lantern lined path and look at all the awesome displays. For a free family event it's rated top notch in our book! This year's theme mostly centered on commercials... it was amazing how creative some of them were.

and the absolute best-- Rice Krispies... It was animated so they "played" their instruments to an old commercial jingle. It was awesome!

But boy oh boy did I want a gooey marshmallow treat after that! :D

When Tianna saw this one she exclaimed, "Mom look! It's Joseph Smith!" Well Tianna... close. Very close.

Activities like this are some of the things we will miss most when we move away... for now, and for the next few years, you can count on us to attend THE PUMPKIN WALK- No leashes on pumpkins required.

Oh Deer.

Week before last we painted our 4 cute little pumpkins from our garden. They weren't big enough to carve so we decided to paint them. I personally find the vinyl families on people's car windows funny, so I thought we should paint our pumpkins like OUR vinyl family. Since we have a fam of 4 it was like destiny was calling them. They turned out ADORABLE, wouldn't you say?

In case you can't tell, Luke's was a hunter, I'm a mommy, Tianna is a PRINCESS and Adelia is well, a baby. :D

Sad to say, we returned from our weekend adventures to find only 2 of our family remaining. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of people taking stuff from our porch! We've lost a pumpkin the first year here, our security system sign (since recovered), a bunch of flowers (see April 2008 for THAT fun story) and last Halloween a really cute witch sign I had painted. Now, sadly, but not to my surprise, we lost 2 of our vinyl family pumpkins. It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't have taken Tianna's. Every time we walk by she says, "where's my pumpkin?" When I explained someone took it she suggested "let's go take it back." Well if I knew where it was, don't think I wouldn't. It makes me soooo mad. Shouldn't your own personal possessions on your OWN porch of a house you OWN be at least somewhat safe? People-if you have clepto children, lock them up. PLEASE. Or at least supervise them 100% of the time they are outside. And if it happens that adults are responsible-- SHAME ON YOU! : P Okay I'll jump off my soap box.

... on to the great deer hunt.
Luke's brother in law, mom, and dad were all successful. Luke had a good time helping them, gutting, cleaning, skinning, etc etc the little darlings. Adelia, Tianna, and I got in on the action a bit Saturday night. We sat in the car the whole time and little Tianna PEACOCK kept saying, "Let me out, I want to go shoot a deer!" So definitely a Peacock spawn.
During the opening morning the girls and I hung out with Auntie Monica and Aden while the hunters went out. Thanks Monica for a grand old time! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

I wanted more cute pictures of daddy and co in our hunting gear but my battery died on the camera. Sad. So all you get is the few I got from inside the truck.

Friday I went to Price to spend the day with my mom and sisters(and in laws) as we remembered Vittoria on the 2 month anniversary of her passing. Not a day goes by without thinking of that sweet angel and her family.
We enjoyed being able to see her grave and Tianna loved giving Aunt Val a little unicorn like the big one that Vittoria had loved and had with her in her casket. We were so glad we could visit that special place and remember a very special little girl whom we miss terribly.

While in Price we snuck in our monthly picture of "the twins." Adelia and her cousin, Pyper, are 2 days apart. They are modeling their matching outfits! The second picture was so cute- Pyper wasn't in the mood for a photoshoot and Adelia was checking her out to see if she was okay.

Sunday night Luke had to return home and I and the girls stayed until Monday and rode up with my sister, Jana, and her daughter Harley. She needed pictures of temples so we made stops at the Mount Timpanogas and Salt Lake Temples, and hit Logan Tuesday morning.... before we shopped our butts off. We loved having Jana and Harley visit, even though it was not near long enough.

Now I find it's been nearly a week since I wrote this post because I was too lazy to upload my photos! Now I have a whole new weekend worth of pictures from the PUMPKIN WALK! A Logan favorite of ours. Check back in a few days for those!

Boo @ the Zoo and the Peacock's too

Once again, we had a crazy busy fun-filled weekend. (I started this blog Monday... this week's flying by)

Luke's family came to town to attend one of his cousin's baby shower. They didn't get to stay as long as we had hoped, but it was GREAT having them while we did! Saturday before the shower we took the kiddos to Boo at the Zoo. It's basically a fund raising carnival for kids at the Willow Park Zoo.

This year Tianna is OF COURSE Sleeping Beauty (her favorite because it's pink) and our little Adelia gets wear the LAMBY costume I made for Tianna. Let's see if I can talk her daddy into being a sheep again this year too!

We had so much fun with Auntie Laura, Grandpa Bert and Grandma Belinda, and Great Grandma Peacock, aka, the Dark Grandma.
By the time they left, the kids were more than tuckered out though.

After a refreshing nap, we went to see the movie, "Up!" CUTEST movie I've seen in a long time. We all loved it. And by all of us, that includes Adelia. She literally watched the movie. She sat on my lap and watched the whole beginning of it. After awhile I had to stand in the back and hold her, but she continued watching until her little eyes shut on her. She slept for awhile and then resumed watching the rest of the show. It's definitely on the "gotta buy it" list.

Sunday after church we went to Orem to visit Luke's Uncle's family, and his cousin, Chandler, who has been hospitalized for a few weeks. He wrecked on his motorcycle and broke his back. Poor guy. We are glad we made it down to visit him and feel bad we didn't get there sooner. He's doing quite well though, and gets to go home this week. Go Chandler!! He's very optimistic and is working hard to recover as quickly as possible.

Yesterday Adelia turned 4 months old. She just started grabbing at objects and it's hilarious to watch her. Last night she was sitting in her Bumbo chair and trying so hard to reach a banana squash sitting next to her. It kept rolling away and she'd reach further and further until she almost fell out... SO CUTE! We just love her!

Do You Ever Do This?

Have you ever gotten your kids dressed (after you) and look down a little bit later to find that you match them perfectly? I do this all the time. I guess subconsciously I'm just in the mood for a certain color....

Today the theme of the day was purple stripes. Adelia was still sleeping otherwise she may have gotten in on the color coordination too!

And doing this?! Right after this shot her binkie fell out because she was smiling too big. She was so proud of herself! We are so proud of her. She may be little in size, but she's determined to make up for it with her abilities. She's growing up too fast. They both are... *tear*

I Heart Conference Weekend

Oh this weekend has been so nice and it's not even over with!

I loved loved listening to Conference today and we had some fun company. My brother's sister-in-law (Karen) is up in Logan going to school and she came over to watch the morning session with us. We love her and are glad she came over! Luke was helping the lady he home teaches to move so it was just a girls morning.

After the afternoon session we have our friends, Nicole and Earl come over and we ate homemade chicken noodle soup--YUM then the boys went off to the Priesthood session and then we ate yummy pie. Good company, good food, and REALLY GOOD Spiritual nourishment! And holy cows! I can't believe there is going to be a temple built in Brigham City... and Ft. Lauderdale where Luke served his mission! YAY!

Last night was funny! We really wanted to check out the new Texas Roadhouse restaurant... so we took Tianna to "Parents Night Out" at the gym Tianna takes gymnastics. It's basically open gym for 3-12 year olds and they feed them pizza and let them play play and play. She told me bye like 5 times before we even got there. She was very excited. I walked her in and as soon as she had her shoes off she was running away from me. So I figured she was estatic and left.

We got to the restaurant and the wait was an hour and a half so we opted out and went to Ruby Tuesdays. :( Some other day. .. or month. This was suppose to be our "date." ah well.
so we picked up tianna and she looked like she had had a blast! Strangely though, all she would tell me about it was, "I cried when I left you." (we left her) but the people there said she had a great time.. never mentioned her crying or anything. And she looked as happy as could be and told me bye again when I picked her up.

Next thing I know she wakes up crying int he middle of the night and I asked her what was wrong. She told me "I ate pizza and I cried when I left you." Then she went back to bed.
So............. i don't know. I am pretty sure she loved it, but just wants me to feel sorry for leaving her??? It sounds like the line she pulls every time I try to leave the house without her. "You don't want to leave me. You want me to go with you." Sorry babe. Not always.

So... on to our school status.
We are not going to move and attend the U. (yay!! I don't want to start over with housing, jobs, etc) and Luke will start Grad School next semester. The U actually didn't offer him much more than he could get here and it's not worth it. I'm so relieved it's all working out!!! I knew it would I just had to wait. Patience isn't always one of my virtues.

Okay... it never is!
