Lavendar Festival in Mona, Utah

Nearly a week after Tianna's tonsillectomy we remembered that it was the annual Lavender Festival at the Young Family Living Farm. She still wasn't up to doing much but we tried anyway because the girl's have looked forward to this event all year.

Yes... that WAS a real moose once upon a time
 Waiting for the paddle boats
 Face Painting
These two are too too cute!
Now THIS is how face painting should be done, folks! None of those little teenage girls charging 5 bucks giving you a deer in the headlights look when your child asks for something as simple as a rainbow
 Rides and Games
 Sweet stage coach
 Pony Rides
Tianna wasn't feeling up to standing in the longer lines for the exciting activities. Hopefully next year...
 The cowboy shoot out show
Some "robbers" stole money bags from the bank. The sheriff inducted all the kids into their deputy status and let them load the bad guys up into the paddy wagon
Adelia thought it was fantastic.  Tianna stayed by us on the bleachers crying from the pain. Poor girl!

If our baby girl had been feeling better we could have stayed later to see a medieval knights competition and or attended the fairy tea party. But ya know... that tea party was kind of expensive anyway and we got to see the knights show last year. So I decided to plan a fairy tea party at our own house and invite friends over.... as soon as Tianna felt better, that is.

Tonsilectomy Surgery. Yuck

On July 8th Tianna had her tonsils removed (yeah, happy 8th wedding anniversary to us)
Poor girl was MISERABLE! The first day wasn't so bad... second day was okay, third day too. Then a she was a little worse on the 4th day but the 5th through the 9th days were horrible!
We basically never left the house for nearly 10 days.
Our life consisted of movies, popsicles, and lots and lots of medication and numbing suckers and VERY little sleep. Linaya just so happened to be getting her top front teeth as well and was in tons of pain as well.  Between those 2 we were up about 5 times every single night.
*yawn*

One day during the 10 days of confinement we had a nice rainstorm. It looked pretty neat from our house.
Linaya also discovered that baths with the big sisters is kinda fun!
We are so lucky to have these great girls in our life!
And we are VERY glad that Tianna will never have to have a tonsillectomy again. And hopefully no one else does either because it was.... awful. Completely awful.

Buh Bye Training Wheels

Tianna is a little late getting her training wheels off... but she has had some real disadvantages. Between her arthritis, not having a bike of her own for awhile, then moving to a very hilly area that is hard to learn on she hasn't been ready for that step until now.
She begged Daddy to take her training wheels off. As soon as he did she immediately took off and hasn't looked back!

Pleasant Valley Days

Somehow I got wrangled into helping with Pleasant Valley Days in Scofield. Since I was in charge of the Little Miss Pageant, of course Tianna and Adelia wanted to participate. They were joined by cousins,  Pyper, Camryn, and Rylie.

Here Pyper is performing her dance.  Her and her sisters are such great dancers
Adelia sang "Supercalifragilistic" from Mary Poppins. I was so proud of her! She gets shy when the spotlight is on her but she pushed through and did an excellent job.  However, I didn't prepare her with the fact that she would have to answer a question on stage. She clammed up when asked "what her favorite book was."  She was ticked off at herself for weeks...poor girl.
The video is being dumb... hopefully i can figure out how post it correctly.
Anxiously awaiting the results of the 3-5 year old category.
Camryn also performed her ballet dance in the 6-8 year old division.
what a pretty ballerina
Tianna performed "Stupid Cupid" (and adaption) from her dance recital this year.
again the video isn't cooperating. but trust me, she was cute!
Tianna's onstage question was "if you could have any super power what would you choose?" She said, "I would FLY!"
Tianna won 3rd place in her division.
Rylie also did an excellent job at her dance.
At the end we all rocked out to "Firework" while we waited for the final judging.
The night was fun.......... but I was glad when that whole event was over with! I prefer to perform...not emcee!

SATURDAY
The parade! The theme was "An Old Fashioned Fourth" so we decorated up the fishing boat and said, "Oh OLD FISHIN' FOURTH"
Franden Family: Been fishing on the 4th in Scofield since 1968

Linaya rode up front with Jana and Casey
Taylor, Nati and Grandpa Neil rode the horses
 That night-- FIREWORKS!
After a very exhausting and busy weekend culminating with the fireworks over the lake, we headed home. It was a very enjoyable 4th.
GOD BLESS the USA!
