Aloha

On a random whim we attended a scholarship fundraiser luau in Provo with the Merrell's on May 3rd.  The food was tasty, entertainment was decent and the company was excellent.
PLUS we got to dress up a bit Hawaiian style so........ it was a great night.

The only thing that could have made it better was if Tianna didn't wake up in the middle of the night with Hawaiian food revisited..........and revisited and revisited. Thank you stomach flu for not only wiping out Tianna, but for dragging me along with it during my callback for Shrek the Musical Auditions.
Although callbacks were a total bust (I was not only ill-prepared for how callbacks worked here, but I just wanted to go home and throw up!) Still, I managed to get a small part as a villager.  Stay tuned for me details as the show in August nears.

A is for Aquarium

On May 2nd we attended Tianna's class field trip to the Aquarium in Sandy. Fishies, turtles, sharks, penguins, sting rays, oh  my! It was a lot of fun.
Even Linaya was really fascinated. She tried so hard to touch the fish through the glass. It was really cute!

My favorite was the penguin exhibit.
In addition to my trio, we had another cute girl in our group. Her name was Gladys.
Linaya tried so hard to get that fishy!
Aquarium fun followed by lunch at the park.

We have a 6 Month Old!

Adelia (almost 4) Tianna (6.5) and Linaya (6 months)
3 most BEAUTIFUL girls in the whole wide world!

On the 23rd Linaya turned 6 months old! We finally decided it was time to transition to the crib full-time. We had been putting her to bed there but she wake and hour or 2 later  and spend the rest of the night in my bed......waking every hour or two. She had woken up that often since February and I was VERY tired of it. If I didn't nurse her back to sleep she'd freak out. No binkie, no rocking--NOTHING helped. So, lots of bed sharing for us. But I was SO OVER IT.

So on the night she turned 6th months we put her in her crib and I refused to bring her back to my bed. She woke up at midnight, 2 am, 3 am. 3:310 am. By 3:10 I fed her in her room. She then woke up at 4:30 and then by 5:00 I brought her to bed for the rest of the night.  and yes, i was completely exhausted!

Then we took her to 6 month appointment. She was 25 inches long, and weighed 14 lbs.
He told me to be persistent with the crib stuff and she'd get there.
Well apparently all it took was the doctor to say something because  that night she only woke up at 3 am and 6 am.
The next night it was only once and it continued like that with her even sleeping THROUGH the whole night more than once. It was like a complete switch! She either just needed to told by the doctor or simply turn 6 months old.
Either way we are happy to say she is 100% a crib sleeper and she LOVES it. She takes naps great in it now... i just lay her down and she snuggles into her silky/fuzzy blanket and go to sleep.
She love love love our little Linaya. She is such a sweet baby. She is super attached to Mommy but has a smile for anyone who makes eye contact. She adores her sisters her daddy. She is great in the car (now) and really enjoys going on walks. Her fav food is mashed bananas (real--not the baby food junk) in oatmeal. She has decided she does not approve of bottles but we are trying to convince her otherwise.  She loves to steal drinks of water from mommy's cup and does quite well with it!
She enjoys baths but REALLY likes to shower. She has delicious fat rolls on her thighs and several chins and the most chubby little cheeks that we just love to kiss and kiss and kiss.

Okay, I know I was trying WAY TOO hard to come up with a catchy title for our April-catch up post.
So without further ado, here is our random pictures from the month of April for your viewing pleasure.

This picture melts my heart!
One night Luke took the girl's to Costco while I went to a Relief Society activity. I came home to find these lovelies. :)
Before going to Costco the girl's got to stay with daddy at work for a little while.  Apparently Adelia needed some eye wear :)
Here the girls are pretending to find clouds (or something??) I just thought it was cute how much Linaya was eating up their attention.
This one learned to sit on her own! YAY!!

(going in reverse order a bit) Back to General Conference the first weekend of April
This is how the kids rock out to the MOTAB! plus they just got their hair trimmed...so cute!
Her eyes are such a pretty color. Sometimes greener, sometimes bluer... just depends on the angle.
For several days the older girls had been rather naughty-- especially Tianna. I was so tired of........ so she got to write sentences! hahaha! It honestly did help. I need to remember this trick!
The dog and cat actually enjoy playing with each other... most of the time. Sometimes Willy gets sick of Copper and tries to escape. Unfortunately, he has gotten so fat he can't quite squeeze under the couch like before.

I finally got Linaya on the wall! I love how it turned out.. I also rearranged the furniture. I love how fresh it makes the house feel when you change it up a bit!

On April 13th, Monica and Chris came to visit us for the night. BRIGHT and early (okay, it wasn't even daylight yet) they left for the hospital to welcome baby Gauge into the world!
Before hand, Linaya had some fun with Auntie Monica
Whilst Chris entertained the other yayhoo's
Adelia decided she needed seven, YES SEVEN, tutus under her dress. Nice cupcake effect I'd say.

Logan for a Day

We kicked Spring Break off with our trip to Goblin Valley and randomly decided to use our other day Luke had free from work to visit some friends in Logan. (yeah.. 2 ends of the state in 2 days) We loved that place so much and made life-long friends.  So did Tianna! Her buddy Kendra and her were so close before we left but haven't been able to see each other in almost  a year. Plus..I missed her mommy!

It was so fun to see them. WOW and Kendra and Taylor grew so much! Tianna and Kendra are only a couple of weeks apart in age...even if her height makes her look 8! And their little Taylor is 2 months younger than Adelia.
 Silly girlies!
Linaya was there too--cute as always!
It was nice to visit with the Smith Family. While we were there Luke went to see his friends at his old job and run some errands. Then we ate at one of the restaurants we discovered right before we moved away. After that we went to the park by our old house and saw a couple of the old ward friends and then topped the day off with some AGGIE ICE CREAM! yuuuuuuummmy  as always!

We sure love Cache Valley and it's beauty. If only it weren't so far away............

Easter Sunday- HE IS RISEN! (and then Goblin Valley)

Sunday, Adelia gave her very first talk in Primary. It was on Jesus is the Christ, of course... it was Easter Sunday, after all.
Not only that but the girl's got to sing with the other Primary children, "Gethsemene" in Sacrament meeting.  Our kids LOVE LOVE LOVE that song! It's so fun to hear them both sing it all the time.

As soon as church was out, we headed to Castle Dale.  We had an adventure bright and early on Monday waiting for us!

Tianna had the entire week off of school for Spring Break so Luke took 2 days off to have some family fun together!
First stop- GOBLIN VALLEY!!!!!!!!!

Grandpa Bert, Grandma Belinda, Aden and Raleigh joined the party as well :)
As soon as the kid's shoes hit the sand they were off with a running start!

Just Luke, scaring the heck out of me!
Before heading home we attempted a hike through LITTLE WILD HORSE CANYON... we didn't get too far before rain threatened and the kids were pretty tuckered out.

It was a LOT of driving for one day, but we loved going to one of the neatest places in the whole wide world. How lucky we are to live near such amazing landscapes.
