July the 4th

This year we celebrated our Nation's birthday in Scofield at the cabin and Pleasant Valley Days!
We watched the parade:

Then we headed to the park for some crowd surfing! haha.. there were so many people there you practically had to surf over them to get anywhere! But the kids enjoyed their "rides." 

 The lens didn't quite open, but it still capered Tianna's joy at playing on the bounce houses

 Adelia was a bit tuckered out after baking in the sun at the parade and park. But.. no nap that day- just a quick snuggle with Aunt Jana

 Between the park festivities and the fireworks we had a POTTER FAMILY REUNION! (it will require it's own post, which will be next)

 We watched the fireworks down at the Lake and then by the time we got back our little dirt monkey was completely exhausted. Too bad she still needed to get in the bathtub. The picture doesn't do justice to how much dirt she was covered in.

Sadly, this may have been our last time attending the Scofield Branch in this unique and very old chapel.  It will be remodeled late this summer.  So very many memories have been made throughout my life here.  But, it is exciting that attendance has been so high that it requires a new meeting house.  On Sunday the 3rd, there were over 600 people!!!! Every year it grows in numbers!

On Monday, the 4th of July, we did a lot of Horse Back Riding. It was so nice to go on a really good, long ride. without any incidents. The horses behaved so nicely! When we got back we took the girlies for a ride.  Adelia was in heaven. Tianna is suddenly scared of EVERYTHING so it took some time before she had fun. 

 Tianna got a "magic stick" (branch pulled from the tree) that kept her safe and helped her be brave. Worked like a charm!

 Monday night we went over to Jana and Casey's to watch the fireworks that Price did. They have the best view, right outside their back door!

I lied... one more! Family Pictures 2011!!!

Family pictures were taken the Sunday after the Lake Reunion... (YES it was a marathon weekend, with Wed taking the camp trailer up to the site, Thursday-Manti, Friday and Saturday-camping, Sunday- family pictures.  But Luke's sister, Laura, who lives in Nebraska and hasn't been able to come visit since Christmas 2009(!) was in town we had to seize the day. )

They were taken just below Luke's parent's house in a very sentimental place for Luke and I.  That is the exact location that he proposed to me over 6 years ago! His sister Monica was our photographer.  Thanks Monica! Can't wait till we have a new house with a wall to put it on!

There are a few more that I don't have on hand yet, but trust me, they're cute too! 

PS- i'm so glad i get to call that good looking guy and those beautiful girls mine! 

One last one for June

Wow, i've blogged a lot today! I am determined to get caught up!
so before we move on into the current month, i have one last post for June.  The last week of June we were watching my brother's girls, Jocelyn and Joelle, while their mommy was at Girls Camp.  One day we took a little adventure down to Moab.
The reason was because my mom had an appointment, so the older 3 girls and I killed time in the baking heat. I wanted to take them swimming but i was not going to take that many kids to a pool by myself. so instead we sat outside of it in some of the only shade we could find.

On the way back we stopped at Arches Nat. park to show the girls "Rock shaped like Rainbows."  I think they may have been disappointed due to my description, but they liked the Arches anyway.... even if they weren't colored like rainbows.

 We made a short attempt at going to Sand Arch but sand, plus wind, plus 3 little kids = not gonna happen!

 Oh well, we were all too tired to care. so we basically drove through the park, stopped for a potty break, one rock climb, and headed home.  But not before stopping at Ray's in Greenriver for some din-din.

So this picture really has nothing to do with the post... it's from a day where we had a picnic at the Helper Parkway.  I just think Adelia looked really cute... but hey, i'm biased!

Fishing with daddy!

We've been able to go out fishing a few times this summer.   The night before Father's Day we took the girls out to Gigliotti's pond.  We caught a few fish, nothing too impressive... But, we had a good ol' time anyway!

 for some reason the fish was freaking Adelia out... by the second picture she realized fishing is really exciting!

Our next trip was at the reunion when we drove over to Potter's Pond. It was a complete skunk out....

But on our next outing we scored big!

I wish I had brought the camera... there were so many picture worthy moments! On July 1st, Luke had the day off for the holiday so we went up to Scofield a day early.  We took the boat out on the reservoir and I'm not kidding, we caught 17 (small) fish! I must brag just a LITTLE bit... I caught about 6 before Luke even caught one! Then i had a total of 10 and he had a total of 7... he usually catches WAY more than me so i had to rub it in.

Thanksgiving Point Museum

In mid-June Tianna had a follow-up for her joint injections at Primary Childrens. We just happened to have my sister's kids for a few days as well.  We decided to make a fun outing of our little trip up north.  First stop-- buy me some good running shoes. Wow, i'll tell ya, running will never be the same! I can run twice and long and get no blisters and my feet feel amazing afterwards. But... that's besides the point.

Tianna had her check up and she's doing quite well.. she still requires the medication and unfortunately it's not taking care of it 100% but for now, we're saying it's good enough.  The next medication would involve weekly injections that i give at home.. um. i've tried just taking slivers out of her feet or hands before... I DO NOT want to give her shots.! wow. I pray it won't come to that.

Then we got to have some REAL FUN. We went down to Thanksgiving Point and went to the Museum of Natural history. It was so awesome!

 A definite favorite was the "Supersaurus"  which, holy cow, look out HUGE it was! no wonder Tianna is still talking about it

 Another highlight was the cave-like room that was pitch black dark.  You could see all these stars and it really did feel like you were walking in outer space somewhere.

 On our way home we stopped off in Spanish Fork and ate dinner with Luke and our friends, Blake and Chantel (who he's been staying with sometimes so he doesn't have to drive back and forth every single day)

Camping at the Lakes...Oh, i mean WITH the Lakes

As usual, fun times were had with the Lakes.  We camped at Indian Creek Campground.  There was plenty of dirt to play in, cousins to love, food to eat, sun/shade to relax in, fish to catch (or try to anyway) and trails to run on (Mary ran 6 miles.. and about died. hahaha)

It was a great time.  Luke couldn't join us until after work on Friday, but after he came we had even more fun!

 Raleigh was less enthusiastic for the hug than she was.

 Amaya and Adelia became quick friends! They even shared a "Lady and the Tramp eating spaghetti" like moment with a gummy worm. Mmmmmmmmmmm

 Tianna was so excited when her giraffe could wear her "crown."  She is ALWAYS a DIVA huh!

 Fishing with these fine folks........ only could have been better if we had actually caught something.

 Late Saturday night we stopped off at Luke's other grandma's house for a shower.  The girls made themselves right at home with their cousins Taren and Tennyson and their hide-a-bed.
