Busy As Ever

After several days of boo-hooing about how bored I would be once Cinderella was over with, Luke assured me that I will never be bored.
So far, he was right.
A week ago today we were in Castle Dale at Luke's youngest sister's high school graduation. Awwww... CONGRATS COURTNEY!
It was so much fun, but for me, it was short lived. I had to be back for the last two performances on Friday and Saturday, so my mom drove me home to Logan so Luke could stay with his family a little longer and so that she could see the show one more time.
It was great being with her... but I had to conquer one hurdle- being without Tianna over night! It was WEIRD! But... actually a nice little break. My mom and I talked until wee hours of the morning then woke up late, watched a movie, got a shake, then she had to leave. So I had an afternoon to do absolutely nothing. Again... it was weird. But it too was nice and relaxing! Then I headed off for my last and final night as a princess. *tear*
One really neat thing I will miss is getting to feel like Cinderella at Disneyland when the little girls got all dressed up and wanted their picture and/or autograph with Cinderella. It just melted my heart!

Meanwhile Luke and Tianna had a BLAST in Castle Dale. Aden and Tianna got BUSTED for climbing up to the computer. Somehow she even managed to log in!
Then of course, there was tubby-time. Check out dem hairdos! They played with the new baby horses and Laura's bunnies, and Luke found time with his dad to go shooting prairie dogs. I felt bad that he had to leave Saturday but I really did appreciate his presence on closing night.

Memorial Day was fun. Luke's bff, Blake Merrell, came to the last Sat. night and stayed up until Monday evening. He and a friend, Jamie, drove with us to Bear Lake. It was pouring rain all day long but it was still really fun. We randomly decided to see if her old institute teacher was at his cabin and he was so we played there for quite awhile. Then we had lunch and came home.


Since then.... we have been spending every day out in the yard. Work work work.... but it sure looks pretty! We clipped our tulip stubs (aww) and planted summer flowers all around them. Now if only we can keep the neighbor kids away!
Luke changed the location of some of our fence and did other manly chores like tilling the garden. Tonight we planted our vegetables and *crossing fingers* Hopefully we will have some nice goods later this summer!

Each night while Luke was at work (Home Depot) we took him dinner. It's been really busy so he's had to go in before dinner. Every time Tianna heads straight for the pop machines and sticks her hand in the slots, then she heads over to the broom and dustpan. His manager says she's hired!


One last random even of the week. I currently have a dead bird in a container on my kitchen counter. While in the yard today, a blue parakeet flew into our tree. Obviously not a native to the land, we decided to adopt him while advertising for his owners. I went to three stores before I found a suitable cage, bought the food, a toy etc. and got home to find him dead.
I feel HORRIBLE! He had water and apple, and what we thought was enough air.... and yet he is no more. His name was Herman...... and I just can't find it in my heart to dispose of him. Luke will have to when he gets home from work.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

We had a great weekend. Actually, we had two great weekends in a row. On the 3rd and 4th, Luke's family came up to see the show but unfortunately the camera never made it out of it's case. But thank you Peacock's and Grandma Lake for coming all the way up here to see the show and spend some time with us. We loved it and appreciated it!!

Then this weekend my parents came up for Cinderella. Luke's other grandma, Grandma Peacock, and his two aunts and two cousins also came to see the show! It was so nice of them!
On Mom's day we followed my parents down to my brother's house in South Jordan. Their little girl, Vittoria, just had another back surgery on Thursday (number 11) so it was really great to be able to see them. Awesome thing is, you would never know Vittoria had just had surgery! She is such an amazing little trooper! And so are her parents!

I love being a wife and mother............... It's the best and the hardest job ever. I cherish my little daughter. She is the joy of my life and I thank Heavenly Father for entrusting her into my care. I also want to tell my mom that I love her! She is the greatest example of charity and has taught me to be the kind of person I should be. She has always been my greatest fan and supporter and I appreciate her so much. (and my dad of course, but he'll get his on Father's day )Luke's mother is also wonderful!! I couldn't ask for a better mother-in-law. She has welcomed me in and made me a part of their family better than I ever imagined possible. Thank you!! Not to mention, she raised a pretty darn good son and that alone reflects what a great woman she is!

We are so lucky to have these woman in our lives! Happy Mother's Day!

I'm over it

After a few days of bitterness and enough venting, I'm pretty much over the tulip issue... Everyone's comments definitely helped and some gave me a good laugh (Lachelle and Sarah)

Although I think Clisty was the one who came up with the best answer to my problems... not to mention, humbled me by suggesting a Christlike solution. I just might have to purchase some Popsicles now!
Anyway, the rest have bloomed and look great. I was even able to get some cute pictures.




Saturday we went fishing as a family. It was chilly and we didn't even come close to catching anything but we sure had fun together! Tianna's favorite part was quacking at the duck and throwing bread at him.

Little Delinquents

Be aware--- this is a very BITTER post!!

Okay....... so first off, I LOVE flowers and tulips use to be my favorite when I was a kid. (probably because they were the only ones I could draw... but that is besides the point) the Point is, I always wanted tulips but we never had them growing up. When we moved into this house I just knew I wanted a row of gorgeous tulips. So I planted them... and with having to remove a stupid rock every inch and a half, it took me about 3 hours to do.

Then I waited...... until one glorious late February day, I saw a few little heads peeping out of the frozen ground. Everyday we'd check to see how many more were sticking out of the ground. We even removed snow off of some of them so they could come out and see the world.

Then we waited. Slowly, ever so slowly they grew. Everyone else around us seemed to have their tulips out already but ours were being very slow.

Finally, on May 2nd one blossomed! (I found it a good omen for Cinderella since that was opening night)
Saturday about 3 more bloomed and then by yesterday there was a the whole right half of the row bloomed. On the way home from church I told Luke I wanted to take pictures of our family in front of them in a few days when the rest of the row was bloomed.
Well..........

About an hour later I went outside to find that EVERY LAST flower that had bloomed was gone. All 15 were cut off! I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo mad! And I had a very good idea as to who had done it.

So we walked past the neighbors 3 houses down and guess what we found. A whole pile of them in their stroller. These neighbor kids run around all the time and are constantly on our sidewalk riding their bikes. They even rode their bikes OVER my baby tulips a few weeks ago. So I moved our security system sign into the way where they rode through........ and they STOLE MY STUPID SIGN! I didn't know it was them for sure until a few days later I was driving past their house when one of the little kids was playing with our sign in her driveway. I slammed on my breaks and jumped out to say "That's mine!!!".......... the best part is that I had just come from taking those pictures for the Cinderella poster, so they thought a princess was taking her sign back..

Needless to say, these little girls about ages 2-7 blamed it on their cousin. Then last night when I found the pile of tulips, I told their dad who was on the porch that those were all our flowers and we didn't appreciate them being stolen. Again, the girl blamed it on her littlest sister (after she had told us she didn't know anything about it) What a little liar. Then, not to be racist or anything, but they are Hispanic so they were speaking in Spanish to each other so who knows what was actually said...

AnywayI was furious. And am still furious! And heatbroken!!!! More than half of our row of tulips are cut and won't bloom again until next year. So much for having my perfect row of tulips lining the entire fence line. *sigh* Why? Honestly, WHY?!

I wish I had taken a before picture.... that whole row was in full gorgeous bloom yesterday.

Poster

This is what the poster for Cinderella looks like. The girl that designed it did a GREAT job... and spent so much time on it. She had to cut the staircase out, even between each rail. She said it took her about 6 hours just to do that part. I think it turned out really nice, but I must say...
It's quite embarrassing having a poster-sized picture of me hanging all over the Cache Valley... especially with my FOOT sticking out!

Cinderella and Harley

Cinderella opens next week! I'M FREAKING OUT! But if anyone is interested, the show runs May 2nd- May 24th, every Monday, Friday, and Saturday. On May 10th & May 17th there are matinees at 2:30. You can reserve tickets by calling 435-458-BARN (2276). I would love for anyone to come that wishes to..... and we would love even more to have visitors! :)

Now on to what we've been up to:

Luke is busily trying to finish everything for the semester to end and I think I can speak freely when I say he is SOOOOOOOO ready to be done! At least this semester has been significantly easier than last, and hopefully all will go well and he can get accepted into the electrical engineering program! We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Tianna and I got to make a quickie trip down to Price last week to meet our LOVELY new niece, Harley Elle Hopes. What a babe! (No pun intended) She really is adorable and I'm so glad she was born during a week where I could run down for a visit. It was wonderful to see her and Jana and I'm happy to report both are doing great!

Here she is all stretched out and then bundled up for her first outing.
Here is a happy auntie holding her niece for the first time... well I kind of monopolized her since I could only stay for a day, so maybe this wasn't the FIRST time I held her! hehehe...

Baby Animal Dayz

Finally, WARM WEATHER!! And so of course we had to take advantage of the sunshine on Saturday by taking Tianna to see some baby animals.
We were expecting a few pens with some farm animals....... but what we didn't realize is that Baby Animals Days is actually a HUGE festival and I'm pretty sure everyone in the Cache Valley was there. We went on a wagon ride, got a sunburn, ate homemade donuts, saw a pioneer village and yes, saw tons of baby animals.
Tianna quickly warmed up to the idea of petting the animals and loved the pony ride. She however, was not too keen on the reptiles...hahaha... a girl after my own heart!
