We Interrupt this moving in.............. for............

DISNEYLAND!!!

We planned the dates a year in advance. As our house sale pushed further and further into the summer, I told Luke, "You know we'll end up moving right when it's time to go on our family vacation, right."  And it was.  We moved in Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, spent Sunday putting away what we could.  I packed us all up on Monday and then as soon as the kiddos were out of school we left.  It was so hard to leave the house so unpacked, but helloooo............ Mickey was calling!

First stop, pick up Luke's mama in Castle Dale and then SQUEEZE her into the car.  We were loaded so tightly! We (as in Luke) drove all night. We finally checked into our hotel room around 3 a.m.

When we woke up (groggily, or course) it was pouring rain..... and i mean POURING! We went Luke to the closest store to buy some umbrellas and then later than planned, we took off for the 15 minute walk to Disneyland.  By then we were all nearly soaked through, but just as we were waiting to enter the park, the rain slowed down to a light sprinkle.

We had some excited girls on our hands! (me included!! I LOVE DISNEYLAND!)

It was a fantastic day! After a completely full and exhausting day we walked back to our car (15 minute walk) and then we had a 45 minute drive to get to our hotel in Dana Point where we would stay at the rest of the trip.  (Super discounted stay was nice, but driving that far every day in California traffic is NOT recommended.)

We have a house. And it's perfect!

We finally sold our house in Santaquin, and that meant it was time to get ourselves settled in a new home in Price. We found our dream house... I never knew what my dream house was until I walked into this one.  It immediately felt like it was OUR house.  We were soooo glad when everything worked out with both the sell of our previous house and the purchase of this one.  We closed on 9-11.  It made it even more perfect to find the flag out for Patriot's day on move in day.
moving in proved to be quite the adventure-- this is the boys hauling our SUPER SUPER heavy entertainment center up the stairs-- they were only marginally damaged in the haul.

Luke's finger on the other hand was slightly more than "marginally" damaged. His finger found it's way between our gun safe and the wall. His class ring he was wearing pressed into his finger so hard it broke through the skin.  A kind doctor took pity on him and stitched it up for free-- we subsequently paid him in Apple Pie.
These 2 cuties came home from school and informed us that they were BOTH chosen Student of the Month for September.

Labor day at the Cabin

Labor day weekend started out a little drizzly.... which meant it was a perfect time for a walk, right?!

Saturday wasn't rainy. We spent the day riding horses and baking cakes-- birthday cakes, that is.

Tianna wanted her birthday cake to look like the front entry of Disneyland... seeings as how we were heading there in one week! Yipppppeeeeeeee!!!

Luke is sporting his birthday presents... a shirt from one of our favorite shows, "Psych." He also informed that September was "Buy your husband a gun month" so ... I obliged. It even makes pew pew pew sounds! :) Happy Birthday Luke :) 33 looks great on you.
