More December fun :)

Tianna's last day of school before the break was the 19th. I volunteered to help with the Christmas party for her class. Yes... this was her whole class. Add one boy who was sick that day and that's it.  Talk about one on one attention! Needless to say my help wasn't really needed... but it was fun to attend the shin-dig with Tianna.  Plus I got a cupcake! 

On the 20th we had a super duper busy day.  First off Luke and I attended his cousin's wedding in the Oquuir Mountain Temple.  Meanwhile, his sister, Courtney, took the girlies (Linaya included!) to the Aquarium. Hooray for Auntie Courtney.. they couldn't stop talking about how fun it was. 

The sealing was beautiful and it was fun to see Hallie smile and smile and smile the entire time. I think she was pretty happy :) 

After the FREEZING cold pictures were taken we went to the luncheon.  Then we went to my brother's house nearby and visited with him and his family. 

Then we went to check out Scheels. It was pretty cool...but I'd rather go there when we aren't so rushed. 

Then we drove back to the west side of the valley to attend the reception.  

Whew! Tired yet? We were... but we really wanted to fit a Temple Square trip in this season and this was the best day to do it.

So....... we drove up to North SLC to Temple Square. We got there so late we missed the Nativity thing they do--which is my FAVORITE part, but we were still able to enjoy the lights and the Spirit which is felt there. 

 Oh, did I mention it was FREEEEEEEEEEEEZING cold? Cause it was.

I love Temple Square. Even though it was really late and we had a screaming baby, freezing, tired children, it was worth it.  It always gets me in the true spirit of Christmas. 

A perfect weekend!

Something AMAZING happened.  WE HAD NO PLANS-On a weekend-In DECEMBER! 

We had no where we had to be, no shopping left to do, no errands to run. It was fantastic! 

Saturday we had a nice breakfast, a Home Alone marathon, wrapped Christmas presents, baked sugar cookies, and enjoyed laziness and family snuggle time.

 Adelia is improving in her picture taking skill-- she even decided to get artsy! I think we have a future photographer on our hands :)

Her skills will hopefully improve and she'll use angles to work for, not so much against her models. Thank you non flattering zebra print pajamas! 

Introducing them to Home Alone

 

On Sunday we had my Great Aunt Kathryn and Great Uncle Ken over for a delicious turkey din-din. 

 My new "apron" for cooking.  Worked quite well I must say! It's amazing what one can accomplish when they have 2 arms free! 

 Everything about our evening was perfect-- even the sunset! How cool is that?! 

 It was so fun having them over. They just live in Spanish Fork so we definitely need to get together more often!

I really wish my Grandma could old my other babies, but I'm glad I have her look-alike living so close.  It always feels like Grandma is with us when Aunt Kathryn is. 

December Happenings.

SO MUCH fun happens this time of year... lots of posts coming to prove it! 

First of all, our wee one started smiling mid December and it is so cute! 

Right here she is trying to figure out if she should smile or not. 

"Hmmm..."

 "Yep! I should!"

 Adelia decided she needed to help Mom take pictures. Check out her skills: 

 Our neighborhood is so awesome. Some people decided in lieu of neighbor gifts we should get together, have treats and donate food to the needy instead of each other.
On December 10th we went to the "Cul-de-sac Christmas."  It was bitter cold but a fire truck made a great wind breaker.  And a good photo op

 Don't worry, Linaya was toasty warm... probably warmer than anyone else that night.

 Check out the awesomeness! All that food was donated to the food bank! So much better than just trading with each other.

 Bye bye firetruck.. and bye bye wind break. Therefore, bye bye party! :) 

AND BYE BYE HAIR! It's growing back in now, but she was sporting a pretty good George Constanza hairstyle for awhile. 

 She needed her picture taken too she said. 

On December 11th our BEAUTIFUL DANCER had her in class Christmas Recital. She LOVED every single second of it! She does such a great job and remembers every move.

 Jingle Bells

Tianna had wanted her hair cut for a long time. I kept putting it off and finally decided after her recital we could do it.  Adelia, Tianna and I all got our hair cut and I got my hair highlighted. Hip Hip Hooray-- it was long over due! And it was LONG time in the salon with 3 kids. 

Never. Again. Thanks. 

 But we managed to walk out with some pretty slick hairdo's!
