"Last night at the County Fair..."

The weekend after our train excursions we were able to let Daddy have some fun too.  He had gotten some extra hours in at work while we were away, so he had half of Friday off.  FUN FOR US!

Then it was time for some Cache County Fair! 

Saturday we let Tianna go on 3 of the rides (since she is 3).  Holy Smokes it was expensive for a full on ride pass....So 3 it was. She chose the little car ride, the roller coaster, and the carousel. She HAD to ride the horse.
Luke may not have "throwed out his arm, but he won her that teddy bear."  Actually, it was a little stuffed pig and he didn't have to try too hard, but since Adelia couldn't ride anything, she got the little prize Luke won at the dart game.

I love how excited she was to ride! 

To finish off our time at the Cache County Rodeo, we took ourselves the RoDAYoh! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha! 

It was a really good weekend.

Girls Outing in Heber

The second week of August was a Frandsen Boy's Outing to the Uintah's so the girl's in the family had an outing of their own.  Unfortunately, Luke was not able to go with the boys. He had used up his time off at work and couldn't get another week off.... but being the nice wife that I am, I still went and played.
We met up on Monday and went to Heber.  We stayed in a hotel, swam, and carted our large gaggle of girls around (11 grand daughters under 11 years old.)  Plus my Mom, my Aunt Laurel, my sister Jana, and my sister-in-laws, Tori and Joy. We missed Val, but her family from Italy was visiting so she stayed home.

On Tuesday we took a fun train ride on the Heber Creeper.  The ride was really cool.... a bit long for some of the smaller kids, but they all did so well considering it was a 3 hour ride! There was even an outlaw who came through the train car demanding money.... the kids LOVED that! They were so cute with their hands sticking up in the air, not sure if he was playing or really holding them up at gunpoint. The scenery was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the old train was really neat. We really enjoyed it!

Later that day we stopped at a park in Heber and let the girls' get their wiggles out before the ride back.  That night I stayed with my sister and her girls at my Aunt Laurel's house.... which is not in Soldier Hollow (the pics are from the train ride)

It was so fun spending time with the girls and just having a little get-away.  Thanks Wombat (mom) for such a wonderful, memorable, trip!

Zoo-n-stuff

What's a summer vacation without a trip to Hogle Zoo? Okay, so we have had lots of great summers without a trip to the zoo, but we decided this one needed one!

We got their kinda late because of the logistics of our day, and we worried we wouldn't have enough time before the park closed to see everything.

But we kicked it in high gear, didn't linger at anything very long, and pretty much saw ALL we wanted to see... and the very best part is, it was at the end of the day where most of the crowds were headed out and we withstood a little rain storm that really cleared things out!   All in all, I'd say that is the perfect way to DO DA ZOO!

When we ask Tianna what her favorite animal at the zoo was she says, "the giraffe. It was a girl, and I rode on her."  Yep... her fav animal was the plastic one. Go figure. 

Delia-Bug liked riding on the lady bug. She kept saying, "wow!"

This little beauty was just hanging out by the carousel We snapped some pretty good shots... too bad all his plumage is gone. But he has one of the prettiest heads I've ever seen.

Squeezin (QUITE LITERALLY) into the train. We thought it would be most fun if we were all together. I must say, I'm a bit disappointed in the length of that ride.

I just love my family! We sure have fun together. 

August oh-ten

Here is our August craziness. It started out with the first annual PEACOCK FAMILY REUNION in Orem. The night before we stayed in SLC with my brother James and it was so good to spend some time with him! Then on to the reunion... really nice to see family... and in my case, MEET some!

Adelia with her new beau-- This little cutie was completely enamored with Adelia and let her drag him all around the park.  (you can tell who wears the pants (skirt) in this relationship!

And we don't even have a picture of Tianna because she was so busy playing at the play ground that we didn't even get to see her except for during dinner. 

We also took some WHOLE family pictures and I'll have to get a copy someday and post them on here. 

The next Monday we had a fun FHE and had an old CEU friend come over. Her husband ended up working late so we never did get to meet him, but we sure had fun with Heidi.  After dinner we went up Logan Canyon and roasted marshmallows. 

The next day, Luke's dad came to Logan and picked up Tianna so she could attend the Emery County Fair for a few days.  It was hard to let her go and really hard to have her gone.  We're glad she could spend time with her grandparents and cousins...but we missed her.  So much that we asked him to meet us in SLC on Saturday so that we could pick her up.  Thanks for picking her up in Logan, letting her stay with you, and bringing her back to us! : ) We love and appreciate you all! 

But while she was gone I was able to get some "work" done.  The man next door has been paying me to do yard work.  It has had some neglect so I've had my work cut out of me.

It's been nice to earn some $$$ while doing something I enjoy. For some reason it's easier to pull someone else' weeds than my own..... Or, there is just more sense of satisfaction because his needs more attention so  I can see my progress.

And we tried to go swimming... it started to thunder and lightning after only 5 minutes! But we tried!

Then on Saturday we met up in SLC with Luke's dad and had a fun filled evening with our girls.

 But that shall be the next post! 

Pioneer Day weekend rush

Again our weekend was smashed full of stuff. Really, how do people manage to stay home for more than 6 days at a time?! We haven't been able to do that for weeks! And it's not over yet.... we still have a reception Friday and a Reunion on Sunday to go to.  I cringe to think about how much gas we've bought this summer.

Luke had Friday (July 23rd) off of work so he spent the day helping his dad at his house and the girls and I went with my mom and Joy and Jocelyn to see my mom's family's old farm.. I didn't get pictures though... but we had fun looking at the old farm house, shoveling manure :)  and visiting with my Aunt Diana.

Later that day we met up with a lot of the other family members for some fun swimming adventures at the Helper Pool

Saturday was a BUSY day! The Peacock family put a float in the Orangville Days parade.

Tianna has been begging to be in a parade so she was, of course, in heaven!

For the rest of Saturday we worked out tails off in Luke's parent's shop cleaning and sorting through boxes still left over from their moves. It was a long hard day, but very productive and very worth it. 

OH YEAH! AND a super cool side note-- we had entered a fundraising raffle and WE ACTUALLY WON SOMETHING!!! Or somethingS I shoudl say!

Holy cow we are SO EXCITED!!!! We never win drawings... and even at the Scofield Snow Ride drawing where everyone wins something we always end up with a hat or something little. I actually feel guilty for taking home 3 prizes, especially 2 big ones! But... i'm not gonna lie, we are SO HAPPY TOO! 

Anyway Sunday was a little more relaxing. We went to church and hung out with the Frandsen's before making the LONG and over-traveled drive home to Logan. 

Just one more weekend, then I don't think we have to go out of town for a few weeks. YAAAAY!
