Happy Snowride, Valentines Day, and President's Day

What a great weekend! I loved that all three of these events happened at the same time-which made for a nice long weekend with our families. We miss them so much but it's really hard for us to make it down for visits when it's just a regular weekend. So tack on an extra day, and oh baby, we're there!!

We started off with the annual Scofield Snowride which the Frandsen family attends faithfully. This year was interesting though- so many of us that usually go on the ride couldn't because we've got buns in the ovens or had little babies to take care of. I think less people went on the ride than stayed home-- but we met up for the lunch in the middle of the ride. But BRRRRRRRRRRRR it was cold!! We still managed to have a little fun though : )

I didn't get a picture of Luke from the ride because my frozen hands put the camera away before his group arrived at the lunch. Here is a picture of him and Tianna at our ward Klondike Derby we attended the weekend before this. There's also a picture of he and the other Elders during an event that they made look so easy-- my group had much less success! hahaha

Anyway, back to the weekend and on to our Valentine's Day. As you know from my last post, I quite enjoy this holiday....and here's why! Flowers and other cutesy things!!!! Sad to say though- we didn't have any sugar cookies, which everyone knows is a Valentine's Day staple!

Tianna and I did get these BEAUTIFUL tulip and daisy bouquet's from our wonderful Dad and Husband. He gives me a bouquet each V-Day and the past two years has gotten a mini version of mine for Tianna. This year she REAAAAALLLY loved them! He handed them to her and she just melted. He had to run upstairs right after she got them and so she turned to me and said "Oh thank you, Mommy." I explained that I didn't get them for her and she needed to tell Daddy thank you. About 5 minutes later (which is a long time for a 2 year old) she saw him and said "Daddy!!! Thank you for the fowers!!!" It was priceless!
Sadly, we had to leave our gorgeous (combined) bouquet right after we got them because we left for Scofield. She did however talk about her flowers all the way down there.

The "Smoochies" were my gift to Luke. It looks like a cereal box that I found in the card section and it has funny little kissy facts all over it. I put his gift inside which was chocolate and a CD from me and the movie "Herculese" from Tianna. Fitting movie for our HUNK! Anyway... interestingly enough, Luke got Tianna the movie, "Cars" and me a CD. Go David Archuleta! We were definately on the same wave length this year with our gift ideas!

As for how we celebrated.... well, since my whole family was together at the cabin on the 14th we decided to have a special dinner. I've recently come upon CAFE RIO recipes and so we made them. It was quite labor intensive, but the other all report was that it was a huge hit. So... it may end up being like Thanksgiving dinner-- a once a year or so thing--- but I'll be making this food again!

Next we headed down to visit the Peacock bunch. We enjoyed a nice family dinner at Grandma Peacock's house and then spent Sunday night laughing it up as we played games until way late. Yesterday we were kinda lazy but we played some more games and went shooting at a gun range.

And no I did not shoot that BAZOOKA. I just held it to make myself look tough.

A cute little story though-- Luke's dad puts on a complete facade as being a tough guy but his grandchildren melt him like a popcicle. (my dad's the same way) But I'm sure something my dad would never attempt was to take two 2 year olds to Price by himself to do some shopping and errands.... and get this-- go to McDonalds and actually go INSIDE. Before he even had a chance to ask them what they wanted to eat they were off in the playland!!! He couldn't get Tianna and Aden out to save his life... so he had to crawl up into the tubes to get them out himself! I wish I had seen that one with my own eyes!! But, needless to say, Bert easily won Tianna over. Here he is reading them stories.

Looking Forward to Valentines Day!

I never see Luke this semester-he's too busy! So I've been REEEEEALLY bored and lonely, and since he's not home right now I'll waste time blogging. I was just thinking it would be fun to write about some random memories I have of Valentines past, leading up to my first V-Day with Luke. Since this blog is my only form of journal, I feel like some of these memories (especially ones including my husband) should be recorded. So feel free to read on, or stop if you simply don't care. It's all good either way :D

I remember one year my mom had hid our cards in the pine tree next to our house. It was kind of like a scavenger hunt to find our card... and even though it was sooooooooooooo long ago I still think of that as something fun I'd like to do with my kids some day.
Another year we had made these gooey puffed-wheat treat things in the shape of bears and took them around to neighbors. I don't know why we did it that one year, but I will always remember it.... even though I don't think if I've ever even had that particular kind of dessert ever since. They must have tasted good because I remember it all these years later.

And Oh the school parties and the BELOVED Valentine boxes...making that each year was one of my favorite activities. I don't remember what my box was like in 1st grade but I do recall a really funny homemade valentine I got from a boy. It was a white sheet of paper folded in fourths and the outside was completely blank except for a little worm was drawn right in the middle. Inside the card it said "Hi, I'm Mary the Worm." Random? I think so! hahaha.. now that same boy just got home from his mission and I'm excited to hear how my other friend is likeing that ;) ;) Maybe she'll be getting a special valentine's worm card this year! :D

Anyway, when I was in 5th grade Valentines Day was on a Saturday like it will be this year, and I had 2 friends sleep over. The one girl, Monteal, had a little sister who was a little dramatic because when she left for my house she begged her not to leave her on (heaven forbid) "VALENTINE'S EVE!" Hahahah.. So it's a good thing I'll be with my hunny on Friday night! I'd hate to think of leaving him on Valentine's Eve.

Speaking of my hunny- This week 5 (gasp) years ago we started dating officially. We had been on a few dates and had been spending A LOT of time together for a couple of weeks before this. The annual Scofield Snowride was on the Saturday before Valentines's Day and I invited him to go with me. This meant, staying with my family at the cabin Friday night. (woo woo!) I was hoping he would kiss me that weekend! After all, there was the Valentine's Dance that Sat. night too... so I thought it would be the perfect weekend for such a monumental event. So, hoping it would happen that night, I was completley shocked when he kissed me that Friday afternoon in the school parking lot after Friday Forum. (not exactly the romantic setting I had invisioned.. but oh well, right?!) Funny thing is, because I didn't expect it, I moved in for a hug and he kissed my chin instead of my lips! HAHAHA...
That night though, we made up for it and had a really sweet (second first kiss) before parting ways to our bedrooms. Also that night we had the DTR [define the relationship talk] and officially became a couple. The snowride was a blast, the dance was incredible, and we danced to "Everything" by Lifehouse and the words hit me so strongly that I realized I was in love with this man..(But I was NOT ready to admit that yet)........... When he dropped me off that night he told me he loved me. He didn't get the reaction he was probably hoping for because it freaked me out. Things were happening so quickly.... so i didn't return the favor for a few more weeks. But that's a different story.

CEU's Valentine Dance

Anyway, we celebrated our first Valentines Day together with eating dinner at a restaurant with his parents. That was the first time I met them. Later, he and I went to my sister's house and watched a movie with her and her husband. After that, we were pretty much history. It was only another month before we started talking marriage and not too long after that we got engaged. So each year at Valentines day I can't help but think of our beginning together. It actually makes Valentine's day all the sweeter.

My Camera Annoys Me!!

I tried really hard to get a good "belly picture" the day of my ultrasound or within a few days but last week was so busy it didn't happen. I was actually hoping to get a picture taken in the daylight because lately I've really noticed the quality of my indoor pictures have been HORRIBLE, especially at night. (Does anyone else have this problem?!?!) Anyway, I attempted to take a few photos by myself, but I don't know where to find the timer on my camera. So it was either hold it with one hand and take the shot or wait until dark for Luke to get home.
Another problem with that-- I always look trashed by the time he's home. So.... I didn't WANT pictures by the time he was able to take them. (Hence the picture of just my belly.)
Long story short- they are poor quality, but here ya go. ME and my Belly at 21 weeks pregnant.

Tianna has Something to Say

I am super excited to announce that Mommy and Daddy are having a baby................

GIRL!! Yep, another princess! I know they were kind of hoping for me to have a brother, but they are excited about a sister. I'm really happy because I will have someone to share my interest in clothes, princesses, and other girlie things. Plus, she can wear all of my clothes and shoes and Mommy and Daddy can save their moneys.

My little sister was funny during the ultrasound. She was folded in half with her legs in front of her face the whole time. Mom was really excited about getting 3-D images but because of her position we didn't get very good pictures of her. The doctor even tried to push on the baby to get her to move, but she wouldn't. She must like kissing her knees.

This picture shows her legs right by her face. This is probably when she kicked herself in the face. That was pretty funny to see.

Along with my Mommy and Daddy, I just want to say that I am sooooooooooo excited to have this little girl in our lives and can't wait until June for her to come!!

Going Private

So I know I said I was going private back in November, but I wanted to give everyone a chance to see that and send me their emails... then the holidays hit and well. Ya know. It's like a conversation I had with Tianna a few days ago.
First of all, I took my Christmas stuff down the day after we got home from Scofield..so January 3rd. The other day Tianna woke up from her nap and ran into the kitchen, frantic.

"Mom, where'd Cwismas go? Where'd tree go? MOM, WHERE'D CHRISTMAS GO?!"

I laughed (since it has been about 3 weeks since all the decor was gone) and said, "Tianna, that is the age old question-- "where DID the holidays go this year?" Then I explained that it will all come back in awhile. It may feel like a lifetime to her, but to the rest of us, it will be back before we know it.

ANYWAY--- I've put it off long enough. So in a few days I'll go private, so if you haven't yet, give me your email and I look forward to still staying in contact.

Bang! Bang!

Here's a few glimpses of me testing out my new "toy." Saturday afternoon we went to a gun range. I'm not a really great shot with a pistol, but I did manage to get it somewhat near the target a few times. My biggest problem is that I flinch every time I pull the trigger.
I should probably work on that!

It's my birthday, I came to Earth Day...all wrinkled and PINK!

Yes in deedy, Friday was my birthday. I'm kind of silly about birthdays- I LOVE THEM! And I like to drag out celebrations for days. I'm getting better than I use to be, but I still like to make them special days.
Unfortunately, this one was hard to make really special for most of the day, because Luke was gone, and Tianna and I had nothing to do but run some errands, but don't worry-- Luke made it fabulous after he got home from work and school. And thank you to everyone who called with birthday wishes, it was mucho appreciated!!

We ate dinner at Olive Garden- YUM- and then we saw "Bride Wars" at the theater. I really liked the movie, and although Luke wasn't thrilled about seeing a chicky movie, he enjoyed it too. Tianna sat through it happily and laughed whenever we would. Afterward we had birthday cake and then went to bed. Tianna was so excited to eat "the pancake." Funny tid-bit, we didn't have any regular candles (Man, it's the last year I can even use just ONE box) so my hubby got creative. After all, 23+1 does equal 24!

Luke blew me away with his present this year! While we were eating dinner he pulled out a small, pretty box out of his pocket. I pulled the bow and read that it was from a jewelers. I was so surprised!!! I knew he got me something small in size but I expected something from Kohls or somewhere like that. (which would have been perfectly fine)
He gave me a beautiful heart shaped necklace with 3 small diamonds one one side. Despite my best efforts I could not get a good picture of it. But its beautiful and I want to thank my sweetheart for it. I love love love it, honey! Thank you.

I got to drag out my birthday playing a little more on Saturday. I went to lunch with some of my highschool friends and it was soooooo good to see them. Meanwhile, Luke went with my dad to the Gun Show and the South Towne Expo Center. (Conveniently close to the restaurant I was going to) He had a great time with my dad and of course, he didn't walk away empty handed. Let's just say, he now insists that I take the concealed weapons course so that I can use my new little pistol. He's been wanting me to have something to defend myself if I ever needed to and he saw a fantastic deal... so yeah. I now own a gun (?!?!) Never really thought I would but hey. Gotta get 'em before Obama doesn't allow it! hahhaha.
