Summer- Going Out with A Bang!

On Tuesday Luke headed down to Price because bright and early the next morning he, my dad, and my brother, Jason, and brother-in-law, Casey, went to the Uintah Mountains on a horse-pack trip. They had such a great time! They conquered the roughest terrain Luke had ever ridden horses on, caught tons of fish, ate the best camping food he's ever had, and... basically had a wonderful time. They came home Saturday and are already talking about when they can go back.

Meanwhile, my sister, Jana, and her daughters, Nati, Payton, and Harley came to visit Tianna and I. We also had a really really good time. We shopped and shopped, went on a walk at the Logan River Trail, went to the Logan Aquatic Center, Willow Park Zoo, and drove up the canyon for a picnic and for her to take her girl's pictures.
She also helped me start a quilt for Tianna's big girl bed that she will be receiving for her birthday. We are transforming her crib quilt into a twin-size. (It's turning out super cute so I'll have to post pictures of that later. )

Then.... Jana talked me into going back to Price with her so that on Sunday we could ride back up with Luke. I'm glad I decided to go down. It was my mom's birthday so we were able to celebrate with her and eat really yummy food! :) And of course, spend time with our loved ones. Happy Birthday Wombat!

Tianna looooooooved playing with her cousin's and she's been breaking my heart today by asking for each of them by name. She looks so disappointed when I try to explain that we won't see them for a long time. Luke starts school next week and then we'll be back into a more regular routine, which unfortunately doesn't include as many family visits. This summer has been full of family and fun and it's sad to have it all but over.

Last weekend we made another fun-filled trip to the Willow Park Zoo. It's so fun living within walking distance of this cute little zoo. We also enjoyed having Luke's family with us for the weekend. We missed Laura, Courtney, and Chris though!

I guess being away from my house for so long made me miss cleaning it. This week I went completely organization crazy. Any drawer, cupboard, closet, or space that wasn't perfectly neat and tiny got an over-haul. My greatest accomplishment was the space under our stairs that is our storage/pantry. Luke and I stayed up until 12:30 Tuesday night hanging new shelves and I was finally able to get all my cans consolidated. Oh, it felt goood!!! I went a little nuts after that and reorganized my whole kitchen etc.

I also had to start out the week weeding the MONSTERS growing in my garden. Oh it was a nightmare but... now our impressive 4 stalks of corn can be easily accessible as well as our 3 zucchini plants, 2 pumpkin, and 3 tomato plants. We may end up with zucchini coming out our ears, but we may only get a meals worth from our pathetic corn crop! What's the secret to growing corn? We planted two whole rows and ended up with only 4 stalks! Note that also, we only had a few onions and carrots come up and none of our beans. Apparently, gardening is not my skill....

Luke busied himself this week preparing for a trip to the Uintah's with my dad, brother, and brother in law. He goes next week and so be expecting a nice photo gallery from that trip... let's just see if he actually gets the camera out! :)

Friday night we cowboy'd up and went to the Cache County Fair and rodeo. We had a hog-tying good time. Tianna loved the horsey's and the cows and all the excitement. And she looked down right adorable in her hat that she wore all day Friday and Saturday.

Yesterday I got brave and finally got Tianna her much needed first haircut. Since it was her baby hair just grown out it was pretty uneven and really thin on the ends. I couldn't believe how long it was until I looked back and the picture today.
I was so proud of her too. She sat so nicely in the chair and held really still while the girl did what she needed to. What a big girl! One more thing from her babyhood I had to say good bye to.

HOME SWEET HOME

Oh it's good to be home! What a CRAZY BUSY month! I just calculated it out- of the 31 days in July, we only had 5 full days home without going anywhere out of town or without any family guests staying with us) Don't get me wrong, we loved our visitors and we loved going places and doing fun things, but wow... I guess that explains why I am so exhausted today. That, and yesterday, being the first full day home alone since July 8th, I overworked myself in the yard defeating my mountainous weeds, putting away all the camping garb, and working out.

Here are a few pictures of our little pool bunny. Tianna loves water! It's hard to drag her out of it even if she's so cold she's blue. Sometimes she even ends up in the water when she doesn't mean to. (check out the slide show of Potter's Pond where Tianna tried to catch a fish HER way. She was kneeling by the edge of the water and saw a dead fish and reached for it. She fell right through a bunch of pond scum and nastiness and came out cold and covered in slime) She recovered quickly though.
