As we got to Orlando it was raining like cats and dogs. It had apparently rained like that for the entire day. When we checked into our room, we walked in, admired all of the cool features of the suite layout, and then noticed the giant leak in the ceiling above the kitchen. Meanwhile Luke needed to return our rental van (since we could travel to and from our destinations in Orlando by hotel shuttel service.) He left and took the van back, and returned using and Uber service.
Finally after a long wait, a serive man came to check out our leaky roof. Once he deemed it unacceptable for us to stay, he had us wait while they found us a new room. We waited.. and waited. The kids were exhausted, it was late, we were still kind of wet from our adventures earlier, and we were starving. Finally we warmed up more Haitian food left overs and ate in the dry side of the kitchen.
Sadly, once they finally get us set up in another room, it was all the way across the resort and in a much less nice room. But, it was a room.
Thursday morning (Feb 23rd) we attended our Time Share presentation (and told them no we didn't want to purchase one) we walked to the closest grocery store for food. Our room had a full kitchen and we intended to make as many meals as possible in our room.
After that we set out to enjoy the ammenities of the resort, Calypso Cay. They had fun pools, hot tubs, and a ropes course with zip lines, bungee trampolines!
After our time with the bungee trampolines we tried out the zip lines- So fun!! And luckily Vera was happily sleeping in her stroller.
The super slide
And to end a great relaxing day off--- we soaked in the hot tub
Friday (Feb 24th) UNIVERSAL DAY!
There was hiccups getting there..and getting in. We rode the shuttel and it took FORRRRREEEEVEEERRRRR to go just a few blocks. The ride seemed incredibly longer due to the fact that I worried if we would even get in. I brought the voucher for the Universal Studio tickets i had purchased... but then I saw it needed the exact credit card used for the reservations to retrieve the tickets. I did not have this card with me. I left it in our room. I was freaking out, praying, and freaking out some more...
Luckily Luke's card worked and we did in fact get in. Phew!
