Remembering Grandma Theressa

Today would be my grandma's 89th birthday... but sadly, last year she passed away the day after her 88th birthday. She is really missed and still really really loved.

She is the only grandparent I've really known. Her husband passed away when I was 8 and he was the only other one in my life because my mother's parents passed long ago.
Theressa was such an example to me. Not only was she an awesome mother and grandmother, but she was the first woman on Price's city council, owned her own catering business, and was voted Mother of the Year in Price, Carbon County's Woman of Achievement, and UTAH'S Woman of Achievement the year I went to Miss Utah.

I learned so many things from this wonderful lady and she has been very influential in shaping me into the woman I am today. I'm so grateful for the years of health she enjoyed and that I was able to grow up living so close to her. Having her in the temple with Luke and I when we were married will always be a cherished memory of my sweet grandma, along with countless others.
I'm also very very grateful that she was able to know Tianna in this life. She was there the day she was born and was able to be in her life until she was 9 months old.

Mary, I'm so glad I knew your grandma (just a tiny bit). I remember working in her yard one summer and she knew so much. I just wanted to keep talking to her. She was an amazing woman.

Thanks for this post Mary. It was so nice to read and think about Grandma and the special women that she is and the place that she holds in all of our hearts.

Mary,
Just cherish all those memories. She was a wonderful woman. You made me cry just thinking about my own grandma that passed away two years ago.

Your grandma came to our house the day we bought it to see all the remodeling Casy & Jana had done. (Since it had also been her sister's house before.) While Jana was cleaning some last-minute stuff out of the basement, I sat & talked to your grandma for a while... she was so cute! I think she was lucky to have such nice kids/grandkids around to love & help take care of her.
