Family Pictures = "I Need an Asprin"

I've been looking forward to fall for months because we were due for a new family picture and as many of you know, Logan is a GORGEOUS place when the leaves change. Well, it always is, but even more so in the fall.

Since Jana, my trusty photographer sister, and Monica, Luke's trusty photographer sister weren't readily available we hired our friend from our ward to take them. DISCLAIMER (my complaints are not against her by any means. She did a great job)

After Luke got out of work yesterday we headed up the canyon to a beautiful place called Card Canyon. We were decked out in our spiffy pink and brown attire and the leaves were a luscious red hue- the makings of a perfect family picture.

Not so much. Tianna was so uncooperative!!! She is usually such a ham for the camera (you've probably noticed by the pictures I post) but she would not have it last night. She had woken up grouchy from her nap and I thought it would pass by the time we got up there, but no. So, after great struggles and many failed pictures, it soon became too dark. We ended up with a few that were good enough to work with. Thank you Chandra for being smart enough to bring a bribe. (a SUCKER)

Being the good friend she is, she volunteered to take some more of Tianna today in a field of flowers. So, she and her daughter, and Tianna and I, treked a few blocks to this field to find that it had the sprinklers on. Dang. So we headed back up the canyon to make a second attempt at some cute pics of the crazy child in the fall foliage.
We did get a few, but I was still disappointed. She's really usually SOOOO good at posing for the camera but she still didn't want to today. Thus, family pictures= a big headache. The end.

By the way, family, what pics do you want a copy of?

Oh Mary, your pictures are darling! They are so sweet. Your story made me think of an experience I had with Kenzi the same thing! She was always (and is still) very photogenic, well not this day. Jax was just a newborn and we were at the mall getting pictures at Kiddie Kandids! It was a nightmare. Anyhow my point in telling you this is I LOVE the pictures. They turned out cute and I giggle everytime I think of that day! So this will fade and you will love the pictures all the more for the memory of what a little stinker you little princess was being!
Sorry didn't mean to leave a book.
Have a great day,
Amy

Ok So I like them all but I think I would like a copy of the first family picture you have posted. I know how you feel. When Jana did the pictures for our whole family Aden had the eye infection and was so tiered that I was so stressed I didn't like any of the pictures, which is silly because there were lots of them that turned out good...Jana did a great job and I felt bad, but looking at the pictures now I like them so take a deep breath and know that we all think they are great pictures. I absolutely love them.

I think your pics are way cute! Logan likes to sabatoge ours, but we usually get one good one which is all you really need, I guess. We're getting family pics at the end of October & I'm wondering how that's going to work with 2 kids for the first time. Hmm...
Anyway, I love yours.

mary your pictures are so cute! You would never be able to tell she wasn't wanting to be there! I got your voice mail. I was out at Tom's family's house, where the service is horrible. Tom is at a dental school interview in kentucky at the moment... he'll get back on tuesday, but yes we would love to come play games sometime! That would be so fun! It is sweet of you to call! We definately need to get together and play. We'l keep in touch of when a good time is!

Those pictures are beautiful! I love all the pretty trees! You wouldn't have ever guess Tianna was not cooperating. She looks adorable in them! The pictures turned out great (even though it didn't sound like you had too much fun taking them ;)

i really understand your problem...times 5!! But at that age, I think it is totally ok for a kid to look unco-operative in a photo. Because a toddler is so unpredictable. My favorite family picture is after Grandma's funeral (when you fell backwards!) & Marik had not slept and it was 300 degrees outside, his look was very angry and everytime I see that pic, I laugh! So I don't think you have to have a perfect look at this age.
Oh and I LOVE the shot of the three of you walking towards the camera.
