Bringing Vera home from the hospital

We finally left the hospital on Sunday around noon.  We had been there since Thursday around 10 am... this was the longest I had ever spent in the hospital after birth.  We were anxious to get her home and get settled in.

Lots of welcome home flowers and gifts.  Baby Vera is VERY loved!

Look! Her hand is finally free of that awful IV!  I can't believe how long her nails were!   Imagine how long they would be if she were not 10 days early!

More visitors:

Uncle Jason, Aunt Joy, and Jocelyn, Joelle and Jaycee

Great Grandma Peacock

Uncle Garth, Aunt Tori and family: Taylor, Rylie, Camryn, Pyper and Bridger

All these visitors tuckered her out.

Ove the next few days we "sun bathed,"  went for biliruban checks, and snuggled.  Her big sisters were very patient... and they found ways of entertaining themselves.  They played dress-up in between loving on their new "doll."

After several days, we had a family outing.  Tianna's orthodontist had a pool party at the wave pool.  Thinking Vera wouldn't be born yet, the girls had been planning on attending and really looked forward to it.  We figured, we could sit at home and hold Vera, or we could go sit pool side and hold Vera.
(Don't worry, we were very cautious of germs and any other dangers.  All was well!)

It was sad when Daddy had to leave for work each day, but he had quality "Vera-time" when he got home.  Look at her squishy mug!

"You mean after all this laying in the sun I STILL have biliruban problems?!?!"

Thankfully, we never had to get her put back on the bili lights.. but it was a stressful few days with far too many heel pokes.
