JUNE

Wowza, I have been so bad at blogging this year! I'm quite certain no one reads it anymore... but I love getting my books printed and keep it as our family  journal. Therefore, I must get caught up. And I must do it quickly. So be prepared for some quick updating.

June in a nutshell (hard to think about June when it's snow weather) But here it is:
In June we celebrated Adelia's 5th birthday! We also celebrated the double wedding of Luke's sisters, Laura and Courtney.
I started Les Miserable rehearsals and had Girls Camp (as camp director). The girls also took swimming lessons.
Luke went canyoneering in the end May and went on a horse-pack trip into the high Uintah's. Meanwhile, the girls and I stayed home and had the best "Disney's Frozen" party ever!

Tianna's dance recital on June 4th, 2014. She is such a beautiful dancer and is so energetic on stage. (Doesn't take after her mommy!) Sadly the camera battery died during the recital so we didn't get many great pictures that night. We had good intentions.......

Girls Camp! It was awesome being camp director-- but complicated! I was already fully committed to being in Les Mis with PCT this summer, long before I was called as ward camp director. :) But it still fun and really great getting to know the YW and the other leaders.  However, if I had had my say, we could not have been "The Grasshoppers!" We were assigned "Faith" and we were given the grasshoppers as our bug. Since there is literally NOTHING good about grasshoppers, we went in more of a "don't be a grasshopper" direction. Faith is like a seed, and if planted it will grow. Grasshoppers eat plants, right? So we focused on getting rid of the spiritual grasshoppers in our lives.
Camp turned out to be so fun and had some really special moments!

So why did I say it was complicated? It was more of a timing issue. Les Mis rehearsals began the same week as camp. Several times that week I had to drive down from camp to Payson and then back up. Also, camp ended on the day of Adelia's birthday. That meant her and her sisters spent the week at Grandma and Grandpa's house. :( It was so hard not doing the typical birthday traditions of decorating the house while they are in bed, opening presents first thing in the morning etc etc. But Grandma Bonnie, Nati, Payton, Harley and Tianna made sure she had a super day until we could arrive that evening in Price.
However it wrenched my heart when she saw us and immediately broke down in tears. She was so happy we were finally there, but crying because she had missed us so much. WE had missed them as well!

For her birthday she got an Elsa dress and Anna and Elsa dolls that I had ordered from China. They broke within MINUTES! Luckily, Grandpa Bert had found a Disney one on ebay and it was not nearly as fragile. All in all, she was a very happy birthday girl.
BTW 2+2+1=5... in case you wonder what is up with the numbers on her cake :) Sometimes you have to get creative!

We sure adore that little spunky 5 year old! She is VERY lively and always keeps us on our toes. She cracks us up with every hilarious thing she says and does, and melts our hearts. We love you, big girl!

That night we also gave Luke his father's day gift: New hunting boots. He's a fabulous hubby and daddy! We Pea-Chicks are super lucky!

(But can I just say, it was EXTREMELY busy the weeks prior getting ready for camp, Adelia's birthday--including sewing her Elsa cape, preparing for Father's day AND being ready for the wedding's on Father's day! I barely survived! haha)

Next post- THE WEDDINGS!
