The Bandaid is for placebo effect only-- she hasn't scratched them at all but she felt she needed a Bandaid anyway
Thursday night I was getting her swimming suit on so that her and Luke could go swimming and she had several pimples on her shoulder blade. I thought it was weird but didn't think too much of it because she often has little pimples that looked just like that randomly on her body. So they went swimming (oops!) and when I got home she had a bunch on her other shoulder blade. I started to panic. I never had chicken pox so I didn't know what to look for. Thank you Internet, I was pretty sure she had it. The next morning was Adelia's 2 week appointment and so I had her doctor take a peak at Tianna and low and behold, they were chicken pox. Who knows where she got them or WHY?!?! But, since she has been immunized her case is very very mild. She says they don't itch, she never had a fever or cold like symptoms and has been just as wild and energetic as always. Which, is actually worse in some ways. First of all, it was really hard to explain why she could no longer go to Price to see the chickens and all her cousins and grandparents she was so looking forward to doing, and then also, it's much harder to remember not to take her out in public, let alone restrain myself when I do remember.
Meanwhile, we're just praying Adelia doesn't get them-- or either Luke or I for that matter. So far, so good, and Tianna hardly has any pox left... unfortunately I think she still is getting new ones, even if it's one a day-- which means MORE HOUSE ARREST FOR US!!! Just when I was feeling like it was time to venture out with the baby this happened. Bleh!
To back track a little-- Adelia is growing well. At her 2 wk appointment she weighed 7.7 again. Back to her birthweight. She grew half and inch and is in the 25% in all areas. She's healthy and happy..... and still allows me to get enough sleep (most of the time) We have some nights where she decides to be wide awake-- but then we have nights like last where after she finally fell asleep at 12:15ish she slept until almost 7! WOW!! THAT FELT GOOD! Most nights it's in between... so overall, we're doing well.
In further Adelia news-- she has a belly button! She lost her cord on Sunday--one day after she turned two weeks old. We celebrated the occasion with a real bath!
So, as mentioned, Friday we were planning on going to Price. I figured Adelia still needed her pictures before she grows up too much and if I were to wait, who knows, she could get chicken pox and then we couldn't do them later either. We decided Luke should stay with Tianna and I should take her down. We were able to get her pictures done Saturday and they are soooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooo cute! I can't wait to show them off to everyone. But you will have to wait! :D I also got to meet my new niece born 2 days after Adelia. Her name is Pyper and she is a doll! It was also nice to see the rest of the family-- including Luke's family. (We drove over to Emery County Saturday evening) I wished Luke and Tianna could have been with us, but we had a nice time anyway.
Now don't feel too bad for those two-- they had quite the fun time themselves! Since Tianna feels fine, but just can't be around other people, Luke took her camping. They camped up Logan canyon and then drove around finding cool things on Saturday morning. They came across Old Ephraim's Grave-- the grave of a HUMONGOUS bear killed up there in the 1920's. He's so big his skull is at the Smithsoneon.

The rock monument in the background is as tall as the bear

Before we knew she was a little chicken, we took Tianna to the pool. I wanted to go so badly before the baby came, but it rained way too much in the week after it opened that we never got a chance. She loved loved LOVED it and we can't wait to go again-- hopefully next time I can swim too. It was still enjoyable to sit on the sidelines and enjoy the view

Too cute! No matter how many pictures I see of that little baby it always amaizes me how she gets cuter and cuter every time :).
Poor girl with the pox :( But she looks so cute and like she is loving life in the feild of flowers and camping with daddy. Loved seeing you and hope to see you again soon.
That is such a bumber about the chicken pox and such horrible timing! Good luck I hope that no one else gets it!
Oh that's so sad she got the poxes! It seems like when we first had Claire, McKinley always kept on getting sick and I had no idea where it came from. I am so excited to see your pictures. Love her flowers where did you get them?
Awww. Seeing pics of Adelia makes me a bit baby hungry. Not enough to do anything about it, mind you... just enough to miss having a newborn around that isn't roudy & wild & into everything like my boys!
That is so cute that Luke took Tiana on a little daddy-daughter camping trip!
Tianna. Oops. Misspelled earlier.
oh my, Im all giddy at the thought of being able to go somewhere overnight with just one child!
Your baby is beautiful. Oh my goodness, I am so sorry about the whole chicken pox thing. That is the last thing a new mother and baby want to be dealing with. It sounds like Tianna was quite the champ through it all. I am so happy all of you are doing well, and once again healthy :).
Poor little Tianna and the chicken pox! Good thing she's still young, and probably won't remember getting them, when she's older. Hopefully no one else in your house gets them. I can't believe you've never had them before. They're not fun. Take it from me...I've had them TWICE! (Although, I think they call them shingles your second time.)
