A Congratulations, a Quilt, and a Couch Potato

Here's another shout-out to my sweet hubby! I'm so proud of him! He has been working at a place called Juniper Systems since June. He was an intern and they just offered him to stay on as a student engineer through the school year. He'll becme part-time and it should work really well with his schedule. He's really excited because he loves him new job (and although Home Depot was exhilarating...he'd much prefer to stay at Juniper than go back and do night freight. ) So I just wanted to congratulate him and tell him that I love him! :)

If you are interested in what he does at his job check out their website. http://www.junipersys.com/main.php

Basically, they build really rugged PDA's that you can practically throw off a cliff and they will still work. They are used by surveyors, sheep herders, etc. He even gets to borrow an Archer and thinks it's pretty dang awesome!

I told you in my last post that I would show pictures of Tianna's quilt that I've been working on. It started out as just the crib blanket that I bought for her when she was a baby. I'm trying to turn it into a twin sized quilt. I've only finished the top layer, but I'll post again when it's finished!

As for Tianna.... I regret to say it, but she's been a couch potato this week. This sewing project has occupied a LOT of my time and she's filled hers by watching Cinderella. She's obsessed... and so far today, she's watched it Twice. I started it this morning while I got ready and when it rewound, she started it over. Yes, SHE started it over. Since my visiting teachers were here I just let her go ahead. Maybe I should stop blogging and take her jogging! Hahah..

That quilt is so cute!!! You're very talented! Maybe you can give me a little sewing lesson. I'm jealous. I don't even know how to sew on a button! Pretty pathetic, I know.

I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who lets her children watch tv more than recommended by some child experts somewhere. That quilt is darling. I am excited to see the finished product. I am so happy for Luke and his new job. It sounds like he'll miss Home Depot, though. ha ha. Tell him I said congrats.

The quilt is so cute! I wish I was talented enough to do something like that...I have tried and failed miserably. And I hate to say this - you are lucky that your child will actually watch tv - mine will not, which is really good and healthy, but sometimes I find myself wishing he would get absorbed in a good cartoon.

Anyway, we lived in Logan for a couple of years until Mark graduated and found his dream job. We are now living in Boulder City, NV and he works at the Hoover Dam. We love it here.

If you are interested in going rafting in the future we have one heck of a deal. We usually go for about 6 days (only once a year)and we only have you pay for food and fuel - so each person usually pays about $150 for the whole week. Quite a steal really. I have a bunch of friends that want to go next year, so I will be keeping things posted on my blog for those who are interested.
