"Deezus" (Jesus)

Last Monday night for Family Home Evening we decided to teach Tianna to recognize Jesus. I have a stack of mini Greg Olsen pictures and we went through those and let her point out where Jesus was in each picture. After singing some primary songs about Jesus we walked through our house and pointed out all of the pictures/statues etc. of Christ. We even hung up a little Jesus calendar next to her changing table. It has been so cute and awesome to watch her this week as she points at it every time she's getting changed and says "Deezus." She does that whenever she walks by any of the pictures in our house now.
Tonight Luke and I were reading the March Ensign together and without even pointing them out to her, she would point at Jesus' pictures and say His name. How amazing! And such a testimony builder to Luke and I.

The most impressive part of this whole thing is how clearly she says His name. Most of the things she says aren't very clear even though we know what she means anyway. What is very frustrating about this is that she says "Deezus", "Dadda", "T.", "Baby," "Puppy," "Belbu" (Belly button) quite consistently, but ........ still NO MAMA!!! She completely refuses to say my name. This morning, just to add salt to the wound, she chased after Luke calling him mama. Then she turns around and completely ignores us whenever we tell her to say "mama." What a twerp. But a sweet one..... who already knows her Savior. I guess we can't ask for much more than that!

Cute! If it makes you feel any better, Logan did the same thing to Austin. He'd call us both "Momma" & then for a while called him "Austin" & then finally, called him "Daddy." I bet Austin sometimes wished he'd call him "momma" again, because he usually yells, "Dad-daaaay!" every morning when he wakes up & wants out of his crib. (He must know I'm not a morning person. ha.)
Oh- and "The Testatments" is a good movie to watch for FHE too. That's how Logan learned about Jesus.

What a smart little girl you have. The other day my visiting teachers were here and I had an Ensign in my hand. Dallan (my grandson) pointed to a picture and said, "look Grandma, it's the same picture as that one", pointing to the 'O,Jerusalem' picture on my wall. The Ensign picture was cropped tighter but it was the same picture. I was amazed. These little ones just amaze me at how quickly they learn.
